"Neo-Indo-Islamic mosque with Malay influences"
reviewed 3 weeks ago by macedonboy
One of the major landmarks of Kampong Glam, this mosque has been around since the turn of the 20th century. It appears to have been built in the Neo-Indo-Islamic style with some Malay influences, evident in the onion domes and facades respectively. Unfortunately when I visited, the building was closed to visitors because of the Covid outbreak. It’s still open...
When we went we found the temple was very busy and the stall holders outside were selling the lotus flowers and joss sticks that the worshippers were buying to take in to the temple.
Very interesting temple and well worth a visit. Next door to the lovely Hindu temple.
This is one of Singapore’s oldest Hindu temples and oldest one dedicated to the Goddess Kali. The temple is fairly typical of South Indian style of architecture with a 5 tiered gopuram. I’ve seen so many South Indian temples now, it’s hard to know how to rate them. This one is above average for it’s decorations and popularity. Fine to...
"Informative & Inspiring Stories of the Indian Community"

The building is situated in a noisy and bustling part of the Little India district in Singapore, but going in, the feel is very different as it is quiet, cool and relaxed.
Even for a local like myself, the exhibitions on the 3rd and 4th levels of the building about the Indian community in Singapore both past and present are...
Great food and attentive service! Me and my partner were having our staycation in bugis and chanced upon this establishment. Price is reasonable around 100 for the amount of food we ordered :) No alcohol is served as this is a halal restaurant.
We ordered a chili paneer, mushroom masala, and a rainbow dosa, and each was flawlessly spiced and seasoned for a taste that had us wanting to order more despite being full. The staff were very friendly and helpful when asked for recommendations. We are looking for more opportunities to eat here this trip!
Had a staycaytion here. Location was perfect for walking to everything! Staff was helpful and breakfast was great. Room was perfect for my partner and myself. Good relaxing break! Friendly, welcoming staff. Would like to take this opportunity to thank Tommy Liew for patiently explaining all the hotel's facilities to us. Very good location for city centre and local transport....
This hotel is located in a district full of art and fashion colleges and museums and very near the station. It’s central to all areas so great for exploring the city. The rooms are simple but chic and kept clean. The staff were friendly and helpful...book direct and join the members club and if there is a room available you...
I have given this hotel a 4 rating, because it is a very good hotel overall. It is right next to Bencoolen Station, which is on the same line as the airport, so you can get there very easily. Check in is very quick, professional and helpful staff, we were in our room very quickly. There is a washing machine...
