Walk within this area, centered on what used to be the western gate of traditional Seoul, and you'll get a glimpse of Korea’s past through the beautiful and historic buildings that are scattered throughout. Whether wandering around Deoksugung’s palace walls or touring more historically somber sites such as Seodaemun Prison, this is one of the best places for culture, architecture, and history lovers. Jeongdong in particular is a beautiful place for a stroll in spring and autumn.
Last week I went to visit Seodaemun Prison - a former prison that first opened in 1908. It was used during the Japanese colonial era where Korean Freedom Activists were imprisoned and tortured. After the colonial era ended in 1945, the prison was used by Korean government until 1987. In 1992 it became the Seodaemun Prison History Hall where you...
While visiting Seoul, my son kept asking to see dinosaur bones so we decided to check out the Seodaemun Museum of Natural History. We arrived just after the museum opened at 9 and we were the only ones there. The entrance fee for adults is 6,000 won and it’s free for kids under 5. The museum was fairly standard for...
This is an artificial waterfall locating near Hongjecheon Promenade. The promenade is a neighbors' walking trail and good to watch the waterfall sitting on benches.
- It is locating near Dongshin Hospital. About 15~20 min walk from metro Hongje Station.
- The waterfall is quite huge and spreading widely.
- There is an artificial watermill nearby. Good to visit together....
"Worth waiting a long queue, and had best Vietnam Noodles."
reviewed 4 February 2017 by hongy62
I went this place because my friend treated me a lunch. I visited this place more than 5 times after this appointment, and now I advise my friends to go this place. As I mentioned earlier, this place serve best Vietnam Noodles for sure.
My local colleagues invited me in this restaurant, and I can only share their opinion about it: the food is great. The meat is cooked at the table, and you get plenty of different side dishes.
I was invited and didn't pay, but it was clear this restaurant is not a budget one.
It's kind of weird.
That's a lot of gas.
There's a liver, there's a lily.
It's gopchang with chives.
It's very delicious. It's a long line, so it's kind of like,
It's a shame, but I'm satisfied with it.
엄청 기름이 많이 나오네요
간 천엽도 나오고 홍합탕도 나오고
부추와 함께 먹는 곱창인데,
아주 맛나요 줄이 엄청 길어서 그게...
We were recommended to try this by a friend and we ordered the steamed kimchi and pork, omelette and beef patty.
Steamed kimchi and pork on its own? A little sour.
Make a bite-size wrap with some steamed kimchi, pork and rice wrapped in seaweed - amazing.
I think you can also add more pork if you think it’s not...
It was the second time that we stayed at Shinchon Ever8 Serviced Residence. The location is great, close to a metro station (Line No. 2 Ewha Women's Univ.) and multiple bus stops. Lots of local restaurants, bars and convenient stores are also nearby.
As Korean, we had no trouble in using heater, temp control systems etc, but I think the...
We had a great stay here. Good rooms with excellent service - quiet stay away from the busy downtown areas. Good health-club and spa. Mostly on point except for the breakfast buffet (not good), not something I would recommend or pay for.
This was absolutely perfect for our layover in Seoul. We arrived at 6:15 in the morning and had a 6:30 p.m. flight and so a 12 hour layover after a long haul overnight red eye was not in the cards to go sightseeing. Hotel Queen could not have been better. They provided excellent information in English by email and picked...
"Aged propety with NO WIFI near the Convention Center"
reviewed 29 September 2019 by LightLuggage2
The Grand Suites Seoul is a set of serviced apartments located steps from the Convention Center, so the location is great for attending events there. There is no wifi network or wired internet in the rooms, only in the lobby of building A. The ambience is extremely depressing, with cracked walls, rusty rails, warped floors, and stained paint. The housekeeping...
