If you thought business and fun couldn’t mix, look no further than urban Gangnam and the nearby neighborhoods. On the surface, Gangnam comes off as a strictly business district with a plethora of high-rise office buildings jutting into the sky and the steady streams of office workers bustling about. But interlaced within are a string of shops, restaurants, bars, and other spots for entertainment. If Myeongdong is the generic meet-up and hangout spot north of the Han River, Gangnam is its answer for those on the south side. As evening comes, Gangnam comes alive with its countless neon lights attracting hordes of office workers, friends, and couples for food, drinks, perhaps a bit of singing at a noraebang, and more drinks. And the smattering of clubs around also draws plenty of folks looking to unwind and show off their moves on the dance floor. On weekends, the crowds gets bigger, the energy buzzes to a seemingly nonstop high, and Gangnam makes it clear why so many call Seoul the city that never sleeps.
Eat, see, and stay in Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam
One of the best Taekwondo demonstration I have seen, the plank breaking was really impressive. Show duration is about one hour and the performance hall is about 10 minutes walk from Gangnam station, exit 12.
There is no reason for catholics to miss attending mass in the gangnam area. It is a beautiful and big church. Though the mass i attended is in korean, still i can feel the solemnity of the mass. From yeoksam station of line 2, it is a few minutes walk.
Went to see Ninagawa production of Murakami Haruki's Kafka on the Shore. Ordered tickets online from Tokyo, picked them up at the theater from helpful staff. Great stage, great seats and auditorium, great atmosphere. Would go there again.
If you are craving for halal lamb korean bbq when travel to Seoul, I recommend this restaurant. It is near Yeoksam station and just 5 minutes walking. You should try their their lamb skewers and deonjang jigae. It’s best combination for cold weather. It is open from afternoon until midnight. The lamb meat was so tender and seasoned with korean....
Had breakfast for 5 days in a row there. We have found different options every day... sandwiches are really good and the rustic bread with cream cheese is delicious. Since our breakfast was usually about ten minutes before eight o'clock, many items weren't available yet and many shelves were empty. But still, great option for a good breakfast.
Great BBQ dining experience in Korea style. Like the BBQ pork slice in both spicy n sweet source.
The special kimchi pot go with rice n seaweed are new to me n taste excellent. Good to pair with beer or soujo
Cool concept with live DJ (music may be a bit on the loud-ish side) and construction site theme. Some servers speak English which is great for foreigners, all servers however are super kind and very eager to help.
We ordered a Pizza which was exceptional, very thin crust - in fact unlike usual western eating style, you eat the pizza...
This is one of the best places to stay I Seoul. The service is extraordinary. I was dealing with Sophie and her manager. They were weary accomodating and did not have any issues helping.
I stayed in standard room and comparing to some places it was like staying in superior room. Room was clean with comfortable bead and great view...
Large room that was very affordable. Location was nice and close to the subway. Staff was very kind, as well. Highly recommended and will definitely be staying at Ocloud in the near future, again. That's my review.
Front office staff are excellent. They are kind enough to support hotel guests. Example. They booked taxi, they lifted my luggage, they are too much pleasing type, etc. Really excellent staff even supporting foreigners.
We stayed here over the Lunar New Year's holidays and liked it. We had a room with a nice city view. The staff were helpful and such, and the hotel is located close to an area with plenty of bars and restaurants.
We chose this Hotel for a couple of reasons it was close to Gangnam and just far away to be quiet, and also because directly outside the hotel there is very frequent airport coach service bus stop.
The Reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly with very good English, although were were with Korean friends who also helped with the...
