Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
Perfect way to move from one side to another of the ever increasing Istanbul!
As this time we stayed on the Asian side to be with friends the Ferry is the easiest and cheaper way to move from and to Sultanahmet or Beyoğlu and enjoy the marvels of Istanbul. Also the view that you get is rather interesting!
Unique Underground Mosque located in the alleyways near Karakoy harbor. The subterranean mosque houses the ancient tombs of martyrs near the back of the mosque. Thanks to Ensar of Istanbulday Tours for sharing this special site with our family.
We only had dessert and coffee here one evening but it was perfect! You definitely want to try katmer, a chrispy pastry with pistachio and ice cream. Rakofoli can be a bit difficult to find but it has a smoking terrace and a beautiful view, so you should give it a go!

Beautiful city and amazing location Situates this vezenan Restaurant. Food is unbelievably delicious. I love so much fresh sea food they serve. We were in that amazing city Istanbul for a week. We went this restaurant 3 times. Definitely recommending. Five star rating.
I chanced upon this gem with my nephew who's an extremely picky eater and we both fell in love with the food and have come here 2 more times over our 5 days in Turkey. The portions are very decent and taste great. In his and guy fieri's words, its 'flavourtown'.

We traveled to Istanbul and had checked into this hotel in the month of February 2020. It was our honeymoon trip. The good experience started to take shape right from the time of booking. A smart little email from Hakan (the Manager of this hotel) had popped up within a week from our booking (done online) sharing the requisite information...
