This is a great alternative to Wat Pho. The buddha is slightly smaller but free to see and right next to the river. Theres a market and lots of Thai massage for 120 baht for 1 hour! So cheap. We had a massage and it was fantastic!
A cemetery may not seem an obvious recommendation for an outing but this place is full of history from young seafarers who never made it back home to long-stay expats involved with the development of Siam in decades/centuries past and well known enough to have an entry in Wikipedia. A walk around the well-kept grounds, reading the stories on the...
Loy Krathong - Floating a Basket:
a familiar tune
breaking through the morning news
it’s loy krathong
humming along the tune
ah, I should remember
to put a thanksgiving basket
onto the river
for the goddess of water
as the candles flow
may the light
in your heart
continues to glow
Clean. Vegan friendly. Amazing cooking. This is not only my favourite restaurant in thailand but my favourite restaurant world wide. I have never tasted food like it! Staff go above and beyond for you. And are always smiling. I plan to go back to thailand for a few days simply to enjoy the food here before flying back home. I...
Beautiful riverfront restaurant. Their Tom kha Gai soup here is one of my favorites in all of Thailand. Our server Arisa was wonderful!! She even brought my family bug spray tonight so we could enjoy our meal. I would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant!
As far as Indian food in Bangkok goes, you can probably find something cheaper if you wanted, but the prices here are actually very reasonable for the neighborhood (especially if you stick to the extensive selection of vegetarian curries).
I tried four different curries - all absolutely mouthwatering, delicately spiced and just the right amount of heat. The paneer stuffed...
Liked · This was an amazing, actual 5 star-like, hotel! My friend and I were very sad since our flight was moved up and we were only staying here half a night rather then a full night/day since it was such a nice hotel. Plenty of restaurants on site and really nice pool area. They upgraded us from a 1...
Very nice hotel, its in great location. The stuff was kind and helped in everything all the time. There is no pool in the hotel, but you don't need one, Bangkok have so much to offer. I will definitely come back👌
We changed to this hotel from one nr the Chong Nonsi Station. We were very happy with our choice. We had a suite with a river view overlooking the Asiatique side. The hotel was a 5 minute walk from this huge complex of stalls/shops and restaurants. Also several good local restaurants a short walk away. We went to Chef Jacks...
I stayed here for NYE 2019/2020 and wanted to be near Asiatique. All the riverview area hotels were crazy expensive. The Tongtara was very reasonably priced. Especially considering it is a 7 minutes walk to Asiatique.
The reception and public areas are very nice. My room was simple, but clean. The views are very nice on the riverside of the...
Really enjoyed our stay here. Rooms comfortable and spacious, air-con almost TOO good. The service was exceptional with the lady in reception putting our washing in the dryer while we were out shopping. The hotel has washing machines for use, which are brilliant and give your clothes a great clean
