Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
Booked tickets online and the process was easy. Note: Discount for EU Citizen.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable, explained a lot of history about the parliament as well as the country. She knows her stuff!
The building itself was well maintained. At the end the tour, I also used the 100+ years elevator on the way to the shop.
St. Stephen's Basilica is a comparatively modern building, only being completed in the 20th century and is still beautifully in tact.
Unlike, many cathedrals and religious buildings in other European capital cities, the Basilica has never been bombed and no refurbishment or large scale renovations is apparent.
In other words, you experience the building in its original state - which...

As you can guess, finding a restaurant that suits them is not an easy task. However, this place was an incredible choice, where we ate delicious meals. I was really...

The food was exceptional as was the service. There is a good selection of local food and wine options. Whilst you're dining a gentleman plays the cimbalom, which adds to the experience. Fantastic value all round.
One piece of advice would be to make sure that you have a reservation as they were fully booked for the next 5 days...

Aria is beautiful and the staff could not have done more to make our stay more luxurious. The rooftop patio, wine and cheese with piano at 4 pm, were lovely treats enjoyed often. The concierge seem to really love their city and are totally committed to helping you fall in love with it as well. An excellent experience!
This hotel has a sentral location in 5 th district with a view over the chain bridge. The rooms and service is second to none. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and I ate the best mascarpone dessert I've ever eaten. The hotel bar is also fantastic but expensive. The drinks are very good and they serve the best...

This is a lovely hotel about 3 minutes walk to The Parliament. Delicious breakfast, amazing dinners, hospitable staff, unique and charming rooms. The staff from the General Manager down could not have been more understanding, friendly or helpful. We highly recommend this hotel!
Partner and I spent 3 glorious days in Budapest and spent our last evening here for dinner on the spur of the moment after a day of sightseeing and watching a wonderful band in the square. We decided on this as a "thank you" for him for treating me to such a lovely city break. We were not disappointed, the...
