Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
We did the Grand Circle Tour - small group with a great tour guide (and a guide in training). We were off of the cruise ship so the tour made our first stop at the Featherdale Wildlife Park - wonderful plan since we were in and out before the tour buses got there! We stopped at Windyridge Garden for viewing...
I've been here a few times and never been disappointed. The food is super yummy, the staff are lovely and they make an excellent espresso martini. Order tacos to share so you can taste a bit of everything.
Never would have eaten here if it hadn't been for the reviews - so glad we did! Best garlic bread we have ever had and the pasta / sauce concept is great. Chef/ host really friendly and inviting - defo give it a go!!
I've been waking up every night in June with palpitations - from scary dreams of never being able to eat Grant King's superb cooking ever again - ever since he declared his intentions to cook less "cheffy" food, and to transform Gastro Park into Antipodean - a "more accessible and informal neighbourhood place"! Serious nightmare stuff for hardcore gourmets, don't...
Ordered fish and chips but as it was so busy we only able to get seats in the street level bar area. Food was served about 20 minutes after ordering, good quality for the price and a decent portion. Typically good value pub food nothing better nothing less.
We had a late dinner here on the recommendation of a local waitress in another restaurant.
The food was good, my sister loved her pasta dish, although they were quite stingy on the tomato and cheese on my pizza - it's one of my pet hates when all you can taste is dough.
Overall the food was good and I...
We were not disappointed by our stay here at all! From dining, gym/yoga, to our room everything was great. Elisa at the front desk especially helped with suggestions of tours and generally great personality.
Stayed here for 5 nights while in Sydney. Had not realised that Kings Cross is the red light district of Sydney and when the taxi driver warned us of the local 'activities' I was really worried when we pulled up outside. However, we had no problems with the area and even though we weren't out partying until all hours in...
