A Bohemian inner-west suburb known for its alternative music scene, Newtown is a diverse community offering a multitude of restaurants, art galleries, performance spaces, thrift stores and bars. Home of some of the best live music venues in the city, shows can be found everywhere from the official theatres to the neighbourhood pubs. From its humble beginnings as a neighbourhood primarily known for its many Thai restaurants, Newtown has evolved into a foodie's paradise with a delightful array of highly innovative cuisines from around the world. It is still possible to eat on a budget, but if you crave a more sophisticated menu, Newtown will not disappoint.
Evokes many questions and thoughts as you stroll around. Great to see the place being actively used and enjoyed by so many. Also nice to learn that it has strong support fr the local Friends group. Had a laugh at the beehives now sharing the site right next to some of the graves by the house!
Wandering up the Rocks you may come across a gap between shopfronts that goes through the a multistoried park at the back of historic shop front. Filled with outdoor furniture its a magic quiet refuge in busy Sydney

This place is fantastic. I am writing my second review about my experience because the new owners don't deserve to be judged for the old owners shortcomings. The shop is impeccable, and the staff are very nice. Unlike other reviews the receptionist speaks ok English. It is air conditioned and really well appointed. It makes you feel like you've stepped...
Amazing ice cream, quite a dense texture and really interesting flavours, my favourite treat is the sour cherry baklava although very hard to choose just one from the wonderful variety. Great turkish coffee and apple tea....definitely worth a visit !
A fabulous selection of different foods brought to the table throughout the evening.
Very knowledgeable staff who were at to suggest complimentary drinks to accompany each meal.
A bit on the pricey side and a bit out of town but worth it.
