This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.

I am a model train enthusiast. I found out about this place on the computer. After visiting Minature Wunderland in Hamburg I knew this would not come close. Then when I got to Vienna I saw a huge poster on a fence at a construction site, like the kind that advertise circuses. I saw another on on the wall of the...
This museum is terribly curated- there is no information about Schuberts life or his works, there are just a few drawings and some recorded music you can listen to on headphones. By far the worst museum I've ever visited and a complete waste of €5!
you definitely have to book in advance on weekends for your breakfast. its a nice and cosy place and the breakfast was really good. the staff was eager and friendly. the soft boiled egg perfect. thumbs up!
I am a local and we have been here already 6 times or more and every single time it's like bringing back your best memories from your Portugal holiday. the food is just amazing, we tried almost everything there, you can't really make a mistake with ordering, it's all excellent. even the Cataplana, a very authentic portuguese dish, was served...
I love restaurants that do something "different", in a classy and not too expensive way.
I can basically summarize this place as "classic ingredients and dishes with a modern twist". I am not going to recommend any specific dishes, as the menu changes frequently - many pumpkin dishes in the fall, for example.
They do have some "staple" dishes which...

We have been to Stephan's twice now and it was again an absolute pleasure for us. The Viennese schnitzel was fantastic. We enjoyed our stay here at Stephan's very much and we will be certainly back asap. The new staff was also very pleasant to us.
Surprised. Small, modern fresh hotel. Lovely staff, and very comfortable well designed rooms - all felt very new. Great amenities, and even a nice little courtyard to escape to in this city centre spot. Easy to get transport for the short trip into the city if you don't want to walk. Stylish no fuss breakfast, and cosy little bar for...
This is not your typical hotel, but don’t feel intimidated by it. It’s a great place to stay.
I want to say thanks to the Customer Service staff. I contacted them a few months before asking them to prepare a birthday surprise for my husband and they really did a great job. We got an upgraded Junior Suite and they...
visited Vienna for 3 nights. Was happy with the chioce of this hotel. Room was clean and fresh. We enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the room. Friendly staff overall. good choice of food at the breakfast. will visit again.
A bit far from the center but is easily reachable by Metro. At the check in it appeared that the room that we booked online is occupied so they suggested another room to us with the similar value. As an excuse they gave us coupons for drinks. Overall it was good stay.
We stayed for two nights in a studio apartment. Good points - really good value for money (just over 100 euros for two nights); 24 hour reception (our flight was late and we didn't arrive till after midnight); very friendly and helpful staff. We were there to attend the opera. The 59a bus goes from close to the hotel right...
