Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.

Church of Catherine is located in the Södermalm district.
The original building was completed in 1695. Construction of the church started during the reign of Charles X of Sweden. The church was named after Princess Catherine, the mother of the king.
The church has been rebuilt twice after being destroyed by fires, in 1723 and in 1990.
Several famous Swedes...
After a cultural day in Stockholm with 2 kids under 10, we decided it was time for kids to let off their energy. And Bryggartappan was my number 1 choice.
Bryggartappan sits in a quiet residential area, not far from the walking street with popular cafes and restaurants (Pascal etc.). We went on a Sunday morning and met with lots...
This square is located in the Södermalm district in the popular SoFo (south of Folkungagatan) area.
It has been a venue for open-air markets as well as a locals hangout from the 17th century. There are old historical buildings around the square.
Today, there are cafes and popular bars and restaurants at Nytorget.
In October, it was quite average square.
We’ve been at nook for a business dinner, big group of 12 people. We found a really friendly and chill ambient, waiters and waitress were really cool, friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, really liked the kind of fusion they make and the advices we had on wines. I highly recommend this restaurant, thanks again for the night we had
I have been there three times already. Price-quality GREAT. The staff is super super friendly. The food is so good and there are a lot of options for all tastes. Just make sure to book a table because the place gets suuuuper busy (specially weekends).
Been here multiple times and can always rely on Greasy Spoon for a good breakfast. You have to plan in advance, especially on the weekend as you have to go to put your name on the wait list and can be waiting up to an hour. But service is always great, atmosphere is very cosy and food is always delicious....
Comfortable bed, linens, pillow. Amazing breakfast buffet (protein, eggs, carbs, juice, coffee). Staff are sooo kind. Close to everything. Fast check in, check out. Great internet connection. Hot water, great pressure. Worth it.
Very good service and clean everywhere. Comfortable beds. Nice breakfast with a lot to choose also for me as vegetarian. Perfect located in the center of söder. Nice hotelbar
Easy to find parking near the hotel
The rooms are extremely small. The photos they display are of the suite. The small rooms are unacceptable. So be weary of what room type you book. If you do get a small room, they may be able to give you a larger one if you say something. But that is a toss up I guess.
