Skeppsholmen is a tiny islet perfect for walking. The Modern art museum was wonderful as was the Asian museum and the kids' toy museum. We stayed at the Hotel Skeppsholmen on the island for great views in an urban oasis surrounded by city. The nightly walks home over the lamplit-bridge afforded panoramic views and set a very romantic stage for...
This museum shows Asian decorative arts with an emphasis on Chines and Japanese pottery and porcelain.
But the collection also contains some furniture, clothing, Samurai gear and weapons and a WW2 propaganda bedspread.
All in all enough interesting pieces to keep you busy for a couple of hours.
Admission is free.
I only visited the small free display about Swedish architecture, I liked it but wished there was more information. I think it's worth dropping by if you're already at Moderna Museet, otherwise I don't think it's worth the long walk from the city unless you're a huge architecture fan
I’ve never been disappointed with the food at Moderna. Many dishes to choose from, also for vegetarians. You pick yourself, and seconds are ok! On weekends they serve brunch - also very good.
The view over Stockholm waters are great too. Finally, there are plenty of tables, so there is always room.
The hotel is situated on an island in the city. Perfect for those who want a bit of country vibe without having to actually be there. The pork belly was well executed at good price spot. Also a great place for a coffee or a drink sitting outside in their courtyard.

"Magical and romantic, where boutique meets chic!"

Boutique meets Chic at this hotel and the rooms are fabulous. What's more is the staff is attentive and were receptive to all of our needs and requests. We stayed for...
