"Superb Architecture Museum about the Amsterdam School"
reviewed 23 January 2020 by Hermes_NL
The Ship is a museum about the Amsterdam School architecture right inside a prime example of this type of architecture. It is located inside the former school part of the 1919 social housing project “Het Schip”. An hourly guided tour takes you around and jnside the building. It is also quite well possible to guide yourself around. The museum café...
The title of this artwork in the Amsterdam west is 'Teken' (two columns). The two columns, a short one leans on the long one. These columns are interconnected by a white band. No need to find this at least you are a sculpture fans
Housing corporation De Key commissioned this object, asserting resemblance to the sun, or perhaps a flower, however I do agree with the previous reviewer that the resemblance to the eye of Horus is uncanny. My visit took place in summer alas, when a tree covers most of the zinc-wood sculpture. Striking.

Actually the title of this statue is Visarend (Osprey). This statue is consisting of two birds. It is one of totally four statues of family woezel. The name Woezel came from the story of Winnie-the-Pooh. It's nice colourful statue to see.

It is quite easy to reach Bar Baut as well with tram 24. This is apparently its...
This restaurant exceeded my expectations with outstanding food and wonderful service. I strongly recommend that if in Amsterdam, go off the beaten path to the Spaarndammerbuurt neighborhood and eat at Bar Mick
We visited as a party of 3, (2 vegetarians and 1 omnivore). Delicious food, incorporating wonderful tastes and textures with beautiful presentation. The flavour combinations were unique and it is clear that Morris and Bella love to use their creative talents to prepare wonderful recipes and dishes that are like nothing you have ever tasted before. As your food is...
We stayed here for 3 nights in April 2019, it was ideally located for the bus stop to get into the main town and also to the train station to get to the tulip festival. Was nice to be out of the main town as a bit more peaceful! Rooms were a good size, i did think they were a...
