Probably you would pass these cute tiny human figures when you are walking on that street. We saw it when we stopped at the monument of apartheid and racisme. These little guys were on the wall of the houses near the monument. They are too small to recognize
Running for hundreds of meters a steel rim next to a walking path displays laser cut letters forming a poem written by K. Michel, remembering the Jewish quarter of old. Very nice memorial, lovely encounter.
Like the lions in the Leeuwenhoekstraat, these turtles, by an unknown artist, form part of an initiative to liven up neighborboods with animal sculptures. This particular sculpture is a very life like example of this. Lovely execution, very nice encounter.
According to the artist this work symbolizes the frozen urbanization of the surrounding area. The blue walls flanking the tower symbolize the walls of the houses around it. To me it was funny to see the tower's windows serving nesting birds, in the water coots are nesting, a swan rests in a corner, and a heron uses the walls to...
A really lovely restaurant away from the mad crods in the city centre. Well worth making the effort to visit. I visited with friends and really enjoyed the British menu. The Shepherds Pie was excellent and the range of drinks was very good, including some beers from Dundee, an unexpected treat.
It was not expensive and the service we received...
It is not in the center or turistic area but I absolutely recommend to visit it. Few options in the menu but all superb (just how i like it). One of the best Italians I ve tried a road. Parmigiana de melanazane a must!!!

"Best pasta ever"

Visited on Saturday night at 8.45pm. Shared a bottle of house red and had the aubergine melanzane and a flatbread to shared to start. Gorgeous food. Then had the venison ragu and I had the pumpkin ravioli for main. The most amazing pasta- so tasty with the lovely hazelnut butter sauce unlike anything I’ve had before. Not a cheap meal...

"Cozy neighborhood restaurant"

Cozy neighborhood restaurant in Amsterdam-Oost. Friendly staff, not very big, so you sit very close to your neighbors. Just hope for them not to be loud. The food was very nice, a mix between Spanish tapas and Italian pizzas. Beware: the pizzas are huge! This is a good thing as they taste delicious.
My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant on our last evening in Amsterdam and were extremely irritated we didn't find it sooner. The food was unbelievable (we ordered the truffle pasta and seafood pasta, then a tiramisu), reasonably priced, and our table service from Gideon and Martin was attentive, warm and funny. Great food, great staff; can't recommend enough!
