Normally people won’t go to a cemetery for fun, but of course live is not all about fun. We also need to think and understand where we will end up after life. So, visiting a cemetery allows us to view completely different things in life. Zorgvlied Cemetery is a great place to contemplate. It is, however, not just an ordinary...
Andre Volten started his career at a shipyard as a welder, experimenting with form, he created many geometric sculptures in the public space, was considered revolutionary in his time. This object, created in 1972, consists of four steel columns placed at 45° angles. Fits nicely in the surrounding space.
It is a public park in the area of "Rivierenbuurt" in Amsterdam south. A small park and quite open ( not full of trees) but it's a park supposed to be. Flowers, kids' playground, benches, paths and green. In the summer there is a yearly event "the Parade". It's along the Amstel river but quite far from the city center.
We went on hottet day of the year so it felt like all of Amsterdam was here. No place to swim. Teenage boys jumping over our heads into the pool. If on another day it would have been nice. One pool really deep the other super shallow.
I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough. Me and my husband dined here on a recent trip for our anniversary from London.
It’s a little outside the centre of Amsterdam (15 minute tram ride) in a nice peaceful area of the city. The minute you walk in you feel your stresses melt away! The atmosphere is so tranquil and calm. The...
This place is usually packed with young people out for a drink and a quick bite. Food is very decent and staff friendly. You’re all pretty close together so you shouldn’t eat here if you want to have a quiet or romantic dinner. For a quick meal and beer it’s great.
We came here as it was advised on trip advisor. It was our first time in Amsterdam and our parents first time abroad. We weren't sure about the menu or local cusuine so the bar tender/manger offered to make us a little bit of everything so we could try everything and also make us an English toastie. We absolutely loved...

"Cosy place for pasta"
reviewed 4 January 2019 by rupertmaule
Nice Italian restaurant with very friendly service. Large menu which is very reasonably priced. Three of us had pasta - all very good and clearly homemade sauces. Pizza was ok but nothing special. Would definitely recommend for a reliable meal out in a restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Take cash - cards aren't accepted. (There is a cashpoint next door)
