A venue dedicated to the greatest instrument ever built
This centre gives access to an astonishing range of acoustic organ music: ancient, classical and contemporary, enriched by varying combinations of voices and instruments more or less familiar from other performing arts.
Needless to say, its organs are from different periods yet in "mint condition": several (former) church organs, a beautiful...

"Off the Beaten Path"

Zevenlandenhuizen is a nice stop that is off the beaten path. Near Vondelpark, it’s a nice walk to this neighborhood to see the unique architecture. A few of the houses are currently under construction, which was kind of disappointing, but enough are uncovered that you get most of the effect.
Loved the history! Truly a unique part of Amsterdam!
We thought this was a brilliant idea and our 12 year old was keen to go, but when we got there it was obviously more for younger children so she changed her mind. Everything was well organised with prepared dough, photos of the equipment needed etc so children could easily put a kit together with no reading ability. There was...
"Repurposed late 19th-century Gothic Revival style church near Vondelpark"
reviewed 25 June 2019 by BradJill T
Vondelkerk (Vondel Church) is a late 19th century church with a Gothic Revival exterior designed by famous Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers, located just to the north of Vondelpark at Vondelstraat.
What is interesting about this church beyond its attractive exterior is that it was repurposed as a business centre in 1977 and has been used by small businesses and as...

Lootsstraat once had a public library - the giant bookcase (filled painstakingly with ceramic books - a nearby photo on the wall shows you the process by which it was done). It's really striking. The titles and authors are all real and all are local. It's a great visual way to remember the street's past and to get passers by...
Our meal here was great! My husband was nervous that he might not be able to eat some courses because of his dietary restrictions, but they were able to make just a few slight changes to make this an interesting and memorable experience. I am still thinking about the dessert, which is one of the best we’ve ever had (and...
This was one of the three best restaurants on our city trip to Amsterdam. Not only our introduction the famed rijsttafel but also a great dining experience that was slow, relaxed and served as a multi course menu. Perfect with beer.
"Dutch Steak? I never knew it would be this good."

Before I tell you about this place let me set the scene. I love good steak and quite literally every steak house or restaurant I have even been to has never cooked it correctly, and I have been to quite a few.
My friend and I visited The Midtown Grill on 12th March 2020 for dinner. The restaurants decor is...
Gorgeous design, lovely and personal hospitality and a great location (near Vondelpark). We will definitely be back as this provides a much nicer experience that your average hotel. Smelled so good, too... Just the breakfast was pricey for what it was...

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Cannot fault the staff or the room itself. Very modern furnishings and comfy beds which were perfect after a long day walking through Amsterdam. Cannot comment on the breakfast as we didn’t eat this.
Downside to some may be that it’s about 20 minutes walk from the main streets. However, this was not...
We arrived in Amsterdam at a time of uncertainty due to the Coronavirus (trip was booked weeks in advance and before anything was being locked down) however, we were made to feel really comfortable.
I would definitely return when everything has hopefully blown over and explore the city and stay here again for sure! It’s pretty near the centre, there’s...
