Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.

"Beautiful square with Uffzi Museum"
reviewed 2 days ago by Jo_and_Tom
We visited the Uffzi museum and saw this square and thought it was neat with the sculptures which we thought were copies considering "David" was there. The next day, Luca our tour guide said the only copy was"David", all the rest were originals. Florence art patrons would place a sculpture here. Florence being one of the art capitals had many...
Our tour agency Ciao Tours had reserved tickets for us on Mar 7 to see Uffzi and the Accademia. We arrived early and had no problem getting in early and see the gallery. We bought the 3 day tickets which also included Petit Palace and Boboli gardens which we were going to do Mar 8th. The start of the tour...
I really liked this place - full of history and memories of Medici family. Wonderful architecture and art can be seen here, gorgous place! Amazing paintings, sculptures and oveall the big hall of incredible heigth and space. I could almost breathe the history here.
We went by this place on way to Uffzi and didn't think much of it. Luca the next day March 8th showed us the place and explained the Medici built this and the Gallery which goes from here to Petit Palace over the Pointe Vechho bridge for his wedding. His wife was from Austria and the inside as murals of...
The beautiful Palazzo Vecchio offers us mysteries, riddles, secret passages and a trip back into history to three eras. Palazzo Vecchio offers to us Roman ruins, a Medieval fortress and amazing Renaissance chambers and paintings. A microcosm where art and history have been indissolubly bound for centuries. Its significance and beauty is immeasurable. And its history is extremely interesting. Palazzo...
An elegant and cozy restaurant within walking distance from our hotel in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. My wife and I both enjoyed the Black & White Truffle dinner and they also have an extensive selection of Italian wine. Wonderful service and delicious food. What else could we ask for?
The most charming proprietor creates the best sandwiches and panini. There are so many choices on his menu or you can request what meat or cheese you like and what toppings, and there are many, you want to add. Great value. It’s only take away, so grab your sandwich & eat it in some piazza, you won’t be disappointed.
Ristorante OLIVIERO 1962 masteres the warmth and conviviality.
In my opinion, it may seem touristic (Italian classic music played all time), but the food was worth it.
I ordered truffle spaghetti and a millefoglie. With simple ingredients, excellent wine and pleasing prices, this restaurant will not disappoint!
Whatever you choose, I think the smallest serving will be enough. I got Cremino Ricotta e Pistacchio and Il Moretto Di Via De Neri and I was like getting a sugar coma. They are both very intense and creamy so I suggest you to combine a fresh one and a creamy one instead of choosing these.
Booked this hotel after looking at a lot of options for our stay last month for our 25th wedding anniversary trip (with 13 year old daughter along as well!) wanted something really special and wow, did we find it here. From exceptional responses to any and all inquiries pre-arrival including arranging restaurants, transportation and a private local guide (who was...
"Portrait Firenze is the accommodation to go to when visiting Firenze"
reviewed 4 February 2020 by Matthijsvandommelen
Portrait Firenze really improved my stay in Firenze. Such an amazing team and the room was perfect. Beautiful views and really helpful staff. I would definitely go back to Firenze just to experience Portrait again.
This tiny boutique hotel is in a fabulous location close to the river, next to a small church on a pedestrianised road. I loved the (unexpected) suite, with a seating area by the windows and the nightly open air concerts in front of the church...sipping chilled prosecco in comfort and air con.
I have stayed at this hotel about 6 times now and just love it. The staff are incredible. They always remember you and they are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are heavenly. All the White makes you feel like you are sleeping in a cloud.
Location is perfect. Easy to navigate around Florence on foot.
I can’t fault it...
Beautiful property. I was so happy with the central location. All the employees were exceptionally nice and helpful with everything from preparing coffee for me to take to my room every morning to recommendations for getting an
“ Italian “ haircut !! I traveled solo and felt very safe walking all around this neighborhood at night. Executive rooms have beautiful...
