The Flaminio area has been making a name for itself as a hub for contemporary architecture and art. Over the past decade, Flamino’s grassy knolls have seen the rise of cultural centres - amazing feats of architecture like the beautiful Ponte della Musica, the wavy contemporary art MAXXI Museum, and the futuristic Parco della Musica, a music complex where international names perform. Flaminio also has traces of the 1960 Olympic Games with Palazzetto dello Sport and Villagio Olimpico, the athlete’s Olympic village turned residential housing. If culture means a ball and a foot, keep your eye on the prize: Rome’s famed Stadio Olimpico football stadium is just a short walk across a bridge.
The Zaha Hadid building is beautiful and elegant. I think her style fits perfectly for an exhibition of modern art.
The content of the museum, however, is not entirely great (at least in my experience) because while some exhibitions were great, aesthetic and did make me feel something, others were just very simple and confusing for me to enjoy. I...
I've found it by chance while walking on my way back from the Olympic Stadium area where just a couple of days before, the Roma 1000 ATP Tenis had taken place.
I liked Ponte della Musica, it gives a modern look to a residential/cultural side, specially the musical scenario as it's name suggests.
The church of Sant'Andrea del Vignola was built in 1553 in the Villa Giulia complex at the request of Pope Julius III. This church was designed by Jacopo Barozzi da Vignola with a dome and oval-shaped drum on a rectangular plan . Today the church is used by the Catholic Coptic community in Rome. Charming little church situeted between the...

Visited this cafe around a year ago. Landing in Rome I visited a friend and remembered it so went for lunch. They made me a great tasting plate that was perfect as I was going out in the evening. Well worth a visit, the location is really cool.
This is one of the best gelato in Rome!!! I ate a lot, A LOT over my 5 days in Rome and I really can confidently say this is one of the best gelato I had in my life, honestly!!! This branch is also walking distance from Vatican City, so don’t miss it if u can!

"Random Friday evening in Roma"
reviewed 15 June 2019 by Ian H
My wife and I popped in whilst taking an evening stroll and popped in on the off chance there was a table available.
There was and we were quickly seated.
The restaurant is small, but buzzing and had a great atmosphere.
We ordered and the food came quite quickly.
We had a roman style cod fillet served on a bed...
Just round the corner from our hotel, we went without booking and were lucky to get a table as it was full of locals. We had a great meal with antipasti, pasta and a great pear in red wine dessert. This was the best meal of our holiday. We booked in again, but couldn't go as I was ill. Shame,but...
This was round the corner from my Airbnb. It looked nice but was empty when I got there as they had only just opened for the night. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. I highly recommend it
I stayed 2 nights 26-28 Dec 2019 in Room 106 with small window/balcony - prepaid EUR108 R/O.
Absolutely fantastic value for Rome and I have been to Rome now 8 times and stayed in many places. This time I was attending 2 concerts at Parco della Musica and I wanted to be in walking distance from the venue - 800m/15...
Stayed at Villa Glori for rugby weekend at the Stadio Olympico. Ideal location for the stadium. Hotel very friendly and with comfortable rooms, though ours, on the ground floor near the breakfast room, was a little noisy first thing in the morning! We were offered an adequate breakfast though the coffee was cold and not up to standard. Close to...
"Basic Accommodation Just 15 Minutes Walk From Olympic Stadium"
reviewed 22 July 2017 by WorldBreeze
Stayed here for one night in June while attending the Depeche Mode concert at the Olympic Stadium.
The plus point: We couldn't have picked a better location, just 15 mins easy walk across the bridge and we were back in our room, while thousands were struggling to find transportation into Central Rome.
The room was spacious but very basic, to...
