Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.

"Plaza de Espana under Restoration"
reviewed 22 January 2020 by Vladimiramirela
The famous Cervantes monument was partly covered by a green tarpaulin, protected from the works going on in the plaza surrounding it. We could still appreciate its importance and grandeur, however, I hope the modernization of the place will be completed soon.
Unfortunatelly, when we visited, most of the beautiful part of this famous square was under modernization, closed off. What we could see was the modern expansion all around, marking the old city limit and the beginning of contemporary Madrid.

Outstanding all round. Very clever, imaginative food, surprises in every course, very well explained by polite and helpful staff. Not rushed and also drinks served as we requested by them to pair to match the food -brilliant. Chef very informative. We would definitely return next time in Madrid, make the effort and find it you won’t regret it.
We had a great dinner, main dishes were bacalao in nata, codfish in cream and cheese. Very tasty, other dish was the solomillo , great piece of meat done just right.

I chose this restaurant primarily on reviews even though it was a metro ride away from my hotel. It did not disappoint in any way.
