The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
I took the non-concert tour of this place and it was well worth it, a rewarding hour. First there is a 10 minute video which is informative but nothing special. The tour itself, however, was excellent. The guide was charming and interesting, and the building is beautiful. Gaudy, but not Gaudi! Wonderfully colorful glass and mosaics. Well worth your time...
We paid €25 per person for show and drink. The venue was a cozy shophouse with a beautiful charming courtyard.
Just 2 dancers, a singer, a guitarist and a drummer, but oh, what a performance! For a whole solid hour, they played, sang and danced the most intense and passionate performance I've ever seen. All of us were wowed and...
I wouldn't go out of my way, but if you are in the area, it's worth spending a few minutes in this building. The place is huge and gives you a glimpse of what Barcelona looked like back in the day. There's a souvenir shop/bookstore, as well as a restaurant within the building.
I loved everything about this place. Great ambiance, friendly service and very fun environment. The drinks and tapas were great and reasonably priced.
Best chance at getting a seat/table is to come before 7pm. Anytime after this and you better have reservations, but this place is packed!
We had an excellent experience in Restaurant Montiel: very nice and well balanced tasting menu with cleverly combined wine selection. Servings are rather large for the number of courses. We would definitely recommend good friends to there.
Casa Lolea is our choice if we come to Barcelona. The best tapas we ever tasted. This small, lovely restaurant, the great, welcoming staff makes it wonderful to dine hete
Our fav: fake risotto with truffel, the smoked tuna and claasic coca bread with tomato. Another good thing you survive the prices
We absolutely loved our stay here. The location is perfect, we upgraded to a room with a terrace which was amazing and the pool/bar area is absolutely amazing. It was definitely worth the money and we would stay here again if in Barcelona.
Hotel was in a great location walking distance to pretty much all the sites. There also a hop on and off bus stop basically next door which we loved. Staff was wonderful and very helpful with tours, reservations etc. We stayed for 5 days so we got to know most of the staff by then! Hotel has two bars one...
We stayed in this hotel 3 years ago and decided to return this August
We were not disappointed!
As lovely as ever
Helpful staff , the rooftop pool is perfect for a chilled out afternoon and they are great with children
Opposite Barcelona zoo which is a lovely day out
Would stay here again
Spacious rooms and excellent breakfast
Staff pleasant and very helpful.
The snacks and soft drinks (complimentary) were a nice touch.
Only downside was that the sound of people talking, while walking along the alleyways around the hotel, disturbed our sleep. Double glazed windows could improve the situation.
We're so happy that we picked this hotel to stay in during our trip to Barcelona. It's conveniently located, close to Barcelona Cathedral and La Ramblas, and the airport-bus stop is about a 10-minute walk away. (PS: The bus option was a fast and affordable option for reaching the airport for a morning flight.)
Our room was lovely, clean, and...
