The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
Make sure you book a tour (in the language you require) through the Palau de la Musica. There is a very small window at the ticket booth at the front of the building with times of tours in your specific language. The entrance for the tour is on the side of the building. Ask the ticket booth staff member where...
We found this place at TripAdvisor and came there just couple of hours before show starts.
Still got nice seats and greatly enjoyed performance.
Show was very professional and guest were served with free drink.
Well worth ticket price (25 euro ) and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to my friends.
"my favorite museu in Barca, art changes often and Friday night jazz is a blast!"
reviewed 1 week ago by magnamosa
we bought a pass for this musee as its small and interesting and fun. the art is modern and exhbits are changed often to keep it interesting. Nice intimate spot for classical music on Saturdays and Jazz/blues on Fridays at 6 for a very reasonable fee. friendly staff and nice cava available at the shows.
Yes the lineup on a Sunday morning was about 30 minutes. There are free lockers to stow your backpacks and cameras as they are not permitted inside. About €50 for the three of us. Interesting chronological exhibit with hundreds of works, from paintings to pottery. Ps the audio guide is a must..
Best churros in Barcelona. Nice people. Good service. Good portion size. Very cheap. I would happily pay more than they charge. Only downside is the small seating area but I was happy to take away as well as eat in. A must do if you want churros in Barcelona
After a disappointing dinner on our last night in Barcelona, we looked up great dessert places. This came up and was in the Born area, which was our favorite. From the moment we walked in, the lights were swinging, music playing and people having a great time. The bartenders were very friendly and the drinks and crepes were great. Highly...
We had smoothies, salad, quiche and everything was great! For the amount of food it was little bit expensive, but still cheaper than classic restaurants. If you want to rest there and plan your next steps - there is no signal inside, so plan ahead :)

"Best cocktails in Barcelona"
reviewed 2 days ago by havamela
We stumbled into this spot when we had some time to kill before a dinner reservation and it was our favorite place for cocktails our whole trip. We went back 3 nights and would have went more if they weren’t closed the other night. The cocktails were some of the best we have ever had. You can tell that Kenny...
We stayed at the Grand Hotel Central and went for dinner. We both had the beef tenderloin and they cooked it exactly to the point we ordered (rare). One of the best tenderloin I had for a long time!
Service by Eva was also amazing we couldn't expect more.
Great atmosphere and very good wine list. Highly recommended
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone! It is located in the Gothic Quarter, which is home to some of the best restaurants we've ever been to!
The hotel itself has a very relaxed and chilled feel, with an excellent rooftop terrace with a pool and a bar. We managed to get a seat outside whenever we wanted, and...
My wife and I spent 4 great days/nights here in June.
(I had previously stayed at the Yurbban Trafalgar)
There are many things to love about this place:
There is very friendly staff, a cool vibe, comfortable, clean rooms, superb location, a understated lobby with a table version of shuffleboard and a Photo Booth for guests, and a great rooftop...
Quirky, fun and chic small hotel great as a base to see the sites. Most of which can be seen from the roof top pool deck. Very clean environment, quite despite the busy location, good food in restaurant
We spent 4 nights at Grand Hotel Central and were thrilled with our choice. The lobby and rooms were nice and I would say updated European style similar to other similarly priced hotels in major European cities, but the location and rooftop made this especially memorable for us. It was so convenient for our trip which was focused on sightseeing...
Had a small break with my family and I loved every bit of this hotel! We had a young lady named Marta I believe taking care of us (tall, dar hair) she was the
best! I wish every hotel attendant would be like her!
Thank you for the stay!!!
Marta - hope to see you soon! :))
