With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
The admission cost for seniors was 5 euros. For this an audio guide was provided which took in the whole site. There was a short film showing the growth of Barcelona since Roman times.
A descent in a lift took us down to archaeological remaiins which were very well explained and then church remains from a later period. Finishing off...
Inside El Barrio Gótico is hard not to find magic places every in every corner. But this square has something special. It's own history is amazing and you can see it in its walls and the buildings around. Is a small square full of energy. Don't miss the opportunity to take a look of the trees just look up and...
Go early to avoid big crowd. There are 2 section of the church, the normal indoor one, and the outdoor part which has gooses. We spent a good 30minutes explore the chuch as there are many detail work and arts in it.
It is included with your visit to the catheral and it is well worth the visit. You can see the geese that keep watch over the place, they have a fountain and for especial holidays it has great decorations.
This was some of the best food we have ever had.... Undoubtedly the best patatas bravas ever.... I lie awake at night thinking about them, them and the passion fruit cheesecake.
The famous blackberry mojito doesn't disappoint.
It's a small restaurant, great atmosphere and all the staff are warm and friendly. Especially Arek.
We chanced our arm two days later...
The gelato was AMAZING. It is like actually eating a lemon or a pistachio! The owner could not have been sweeter. He gave us endless samples and he even took us behind the counter and showed us how he made the gelato.
I stayed here with my mother for 3 nights and we loved this hotel. The room was so comfortable, usable and innovative. There was a separate area for bags and luggage, the beds were set up as I requested which was greatly appreciated and they were SO comfortable. They said the sheets were the same as in Buckingham palace....it didn’t...
4 day sweet stay at Mercer is the heart of the Gothic Quarter of BCN. Walking distance to everything you want to do while there. Check out the Born neighborhood and other surrounding areas soo though. Follow the signs for the history of mid evil BCN info!
For whatever reason, upon booking I didn't realize until arrival just how boutique Hotel Do is, only 18 rooms. The hotel is very well appointed, luxury feel without any pretensions. Friendly and helpful staff. Our double bed room, while small, was clean, comfortable, and chic. Love love love the Molton Brown toiletries. Plus the complimentatry mini bar that was restocked...
We stayed for two nights in this superb H10 hotel. As a frequent Barcelona traveller I know a few Hotels in town, but this I liked most so far. You are so close to the Cathedral and the rooftop terrace is just awesome. I definitely come back to this spot.
