"House where the most morbid meeting ever was held"

Interesting museum on the venue where officials of Nazi Germany's different departments, party instances, security forces came together to discuss and agree upon what they considered as the final solution for the "Judenfrage": the assassination of all the Jews of Europe in extermination camps in Poland. It became a genocide industry. Nearby Wannsee Bahnhof, at the southern border of town....
Like others, I was wondering if this place was worth visiting in winter. As it turns out, it's absolutely doable and I can recommend the experience.
After figuring out the bus and ferry schedules, I decided to get up early enough to reach the island at 12. That gave me enough time to explore it at leisurely pace before the...
Wannsee is a lake complex in the western suburbs of Berlin. There are two itineraries you could put it on your list to visit.
First is if going to Potsdam it's right on the way, just exit at Wannsee station (several S Bahn lines go there).
The other one is if you're exploring the western highlights such as the Chralottenburg...
Max Liebermann was one (of Germany's most important artists in the last century. He was also an opponent of the Nazi regime. His house is next to the Brandenburg Gate and worth a visit. Admission is free and there are exhibits on Libermann's life. Clean restrooms and a small gift shop. Many of Liebermann's paintings are on display in the...
After a boat tour we made our way to the Biergarten. Cafeteria style selections including sausages, half chicken, fries beer and soft drinks, water deserts etc. Opted for curry wurst with fries and partner chose potato salad with curry wurst. Two light beers. Potato salad was disappointing as it was a little bland. Curry wurst was ok but not like...
Very friendly staff, quite large portions, good food ! We had wild boar and Wienerschnitzel. Tradition German food... potato dumplings were also delicious ! Red wine Pinot Noir and beer - also good :-)
Good hotel with clean rooms. Very kind people, especially the lady that takes care of the breakfast. The breakfast is excellent.
Bus stops are just some steps away. Easy to take the train or s-Bahn to the city.

A perfect terrace on the lake to sit in the sun, have drinks and snacks in wonderful Wannsee. They have of course many boats, maybe available for rent or only for members? Anyway a fantastic spot to rest so close to town
