The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
If you want to have the best look of Eiffel Tower, this is the place to go. The view is spectacular, and it is cheap compared to other tourist things in Paris. There is also a restaurant if you want to invite your better half for romantic dinner or drinks.
We were told that based on where the line went to, the wait would be between 1-2hrs. We ended up waiting a little over 4 hours to get in. The moral of the story is buy your tickets ahead of time online!!! This gets you in at the time you select. The inside is quite interesting, but not sure it...
The building itself is interesting but not of a great beauty. But it is very functional in terms of light, airconditioning and accessibiity. There is enough staff for questions and control, all very friendly. If there is an interesting exhibition: just go there. And enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, also of the surrounding area.
Dined solo at Sourire Le Restaurant in December 2017 based on TA reviews. Enjoyed a five course tasting menu for 65E with matching wines 34E. Each course was delicious and the service was attentive. The restaurant is in the 13th and although away from the main areas of Paris, I would recommend dining here.
We absolutely love this restaurant! We dined here last year for my husbands birthday and loved it so much we made a point of celebrating there again this year. The service is very enjoyable and the food is superb.
"Terrific food and service. A gem in the Paris 14th"

I was lucky to happen upon La Grande Ourse as I was staying in the 14th and wanted to find a nice restaurant within walking distance to my hotel (The Marriott Rive Gauche). Having been to a couple of local restaurants that received high marks, but missed the mark, I was not confident about going out again in the 14th....
Tiny restaurant with simple /clean decoration. Went with a Korean & Spanish friend and we absolutely love it!!! Service was quick and discreet, menu is small but selection is perfect. Get ready to eat fried food though! :)
Found this great place close to our hotel. Well reviewed so we thought we’d try it. Terrific service. Our waiter guided us through the specials and we selected a lamb shank and a beef dish. Both phenomenal! Highly recommended. Very attentive and friendly service.
Staying at this hotel was an excellent choice. It was a 10 minute walk from Gare Montparnasse - a major train/bus depot. The surrounding area was very clean, very safe. It was a 10-20 minute walk to the trendy dining shopping areas. It was a 3 minute walk to access one of the subway/rail lines to see the city sights....
We stayed in Hotel Aiglon for 1 night - staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was huge, and the balcony was fabulous! The only minus was the bathroom, the drain was partly blocked, so the water didn't leave the tub. Also the shower was quite small (we are both taller than 1,75m so couldn't fully stand underneath).
Reality exceeded expectation in this bijoux gem of a hotel. The manager at the front desk was 'charmant' and very informed, interested and exceptionally obliging, full of useful tips and recommendations.
The room itself was compact, but extremely comfortable, the bed, particularly so! The adjoining bathroom with neat shower was cleverly designed to maximise space yet still be efficient. Though...
My father and I had a very pleasant stay at Le Royal. The room was clean and tidy, with comfortable beds. The location is ideal to catch the metro or to simple just walk to the main attractions.
The breakfasts were of a good standard, consistent with what I expected for the price.
The reception staff were pleasant, efficient and...
The location of the hotel is very good. It is close to the RER station. The hotel has air-conditioner. The bath room design is a bit interesting, but it is O.K. The size of the room is reasonable in Paris, I think.
