Davie Village is the vital LGBTQ heart of Vancouver. It is the only like area in the world to have a permanent four-way rainbow crosswalk, to symbolise the city's solidarity with many of the businesses, ranging from bars to bookstores, that keep the area vibrant. By day, it is a people-watching stop, with fantastic boutique cafes, but at night is when it really shines, humming with neon lights and nightclub music inside many of the hip and trendy bars and dance halls. The area is diverse and welcoming, and its supportive community makes for a tight-knit group of independent and creative shops.
I was at this pub earlier today.
I was there with friends visiting from out of town. Big mistake, not a good sport bar, not a good reputation for Vancouver's downtown business.
Its all about the sanitation and the BARTENDER!!!
The bartender either hates his job or according to my friend simply prejudices.
Without mentioning the name, the bartender made...
Located in the bustling area of Davie drawing this bar is serving up some epic Caesars. This was the final stop of our food crawl and was a perfect spot to have a last drink and get some food in our stomachs before ending the night. Our party of 3 each ordered a different Caesar and share an order of...
This straight friendly gay bar on Denman Street offers tasty, affordable food at a most reasonable cost. The other night I enjoyed two pieces of tasty deep fried cod, It came with fries and coleslaw and the cost was an affordable $13.00.

Now called, “The Basic,” is a great choice for breakfast or brunch, for solo or small groups. Clean, with a great menu, excellent service and delicious eggs Benedict dishes st very affordable prices. A good choice for a morning meal.
Every year when I visit Vancouver I try a different sushi restaurant. This place did not disappoint. Portions were good but the avocado was a little soft. I prefer it not so ripe. Sashimi was fresh and the rolls were well done. Service could have been a bit quicker but still within reason. Great for lunch, not sure how dinner...
Visited Banana Leaf on Davie for dinner in February 2020. This is my “go to” Malaysian restaurant in downtown Vancouver. Very good curry, and bean dishes. Over the years, it got significantly more expensive than before, but food still tastes good. When busy, service can be slow. So recommend going earlier hours to avoid the crowd.
My friend and I had a lovely dinner - starting out with the momo's - they were amazing...just get them. This was followed by the Fish entree....the owner told us that he changed something in the recipe and was interested in our feedback. It was delicious but since it was our first time trying the dish we had no clue...
Been staying here for about ten years and once again the staff and hotel were outstanding!! So close to everything in the west end and the beaches are within easy walking distance. Will continue to stay here when we visit Vancouver
Our mini-suite was COMPLETELY silent. Not only was the sound proofing incredible, the suite was spotless. The bathroom, however, is outdated and in need of renovation. Checking in was incredibly efficient and fast.
