The promenade along the river is a good place to stroll and for children to run. Lovely natural scenery around a run-down town. The best views are on the suspension bridge. There are plenty of cafes along the river to chill.
This free pedestrian-only bridge is a really nice way to see the river valley below. If you look to the south (upriver), you get a really good view of the rising mountains. On the east side of the bridge is a nice covered market with food and shopping options.
Taiping Temple is breathtaking. We happened upon it while exploring the Xindian district in southern Taipei (the southernmost station on the green line), and I am very happy we did. It was a hot and humid day, so there weren't too many people inside, but it is five floors of absolute beauty. I was able to take so many good...
"One of the prettiest trails in the area, and an easy, meandering hike."

We caught this trail a few blocks from the Jingmei MRT on the Green Line, and followed it along a beautiful ridge to the Wanfang Hospital MRT station on the Brown Line. Easy hiking compared to Elephant Mountain, and well kept. Lovely views all along the way. Guessing it was under 4 miles.

Drinks starts from NT150 and the time limit for each visit is 3 hours. You...
1972 is named after the year the owner was born. It's small, with a bar and a few tables, and a couple of tables outside on the veranda. The dishes are good, and there is a vast array of (mostly non-alcoholic) drinks. The owner is very friendly and the service is good.
Having spent three days staying in the hotel, I found the hotel is close to scenic spots at Bitan scenic area, with extensive cycling routes, jogging tracks, family boating, and hiking trails. If most locals and tourists enjoy having a weekend away from the hectic city centre and look for some outdoor activities. The hotel staff at the front desk...
Stayed here in June with my daughter. Location on the beach with nice walks along the beach front. There is a square 5 minutes away with local acts, fantastic atmosphere.
The hotel is immaculate, although rooms a little on the small side, but cleaned everyday to a high standard.
Food is delicious, waiter service on an evening, brilliant.
All the staff...
