Dear Patricia & Paul Thank you for reviewing our home 6 weeks after your stay, we assume length of time between stay & review to be the reason the review contrasts so much with your entry in our Visitors Book you wrote "Comfortable Stay, Brilliant Breakfast", and friendly departure, not a comment from guests who would think the host unfriendly & where there were frayed well worn towels & just adequate breakfast. Our towels are replaced annually in March, old worn ones being cut in half to avoid any chance of them getting put into a room in error. I know travel can be stressful & tiring especially in a strange country and towards the end of your visit, things often get confused from rooms types to locations, we often have people arrive & they forget the name of the place they were the previous day. I remember your stay as you travelled as part of your Wedding Anniversary Celebrations, I recall you arrived around lunch time just prior to our finishing housekeeping, tired, stressed & in need of a rest. On checking in we chatted about your northern Irish ancestors, your trip so far & ballykissangel, your wish to eat in Fitzgerald's , my advice that food is served until 4pm which you felt was too early to eat so I advised if you missed Fitzgeralds the Woodenbridge Hotel served good food at reasonable prices until 9pm & Hendley's Cafe until 10pm, you admired the flower garden out of the bedroom window & spoke about your love of flowers & gardening. We met & spoke briefly as you left for dinner some time later. At Breakfast as you selected from our fruit, cereals cheese & bread buffet. I spoke & you told me about No Food in Fitzgerald's, you appeared annoyed by this, it was beyond my control, I did say they stopped serving at 4pm. I served you in the same manner as all our other guests who find the time I give them to be friendly helpful & informative, I would have checked back after serving you your hot dish from our choice of 7 dishes. At check out we spoke of your onward travels & the next B&B stop to nearby Ashford & when I replied to your question as to the length of time it would take to get there, you said had you known this at time of booking back in March you would have stayed the 2nd night but you were attempting to stay as close to Dublin as possible for the Airport. I hope you enjoyed your full day in Mount Usher Gardens. I was told by yourself you would be celebrating your 50+ wedding anniversary in the UK a few days later & also be in the UK during the Brexit Vote & hoped the result would not impact on your visit. Thank you for reading our recollection of your visit as it gives people an opportunity to read how much time we did spent chatting with you, thanks to for all who read our reviews.
