- Boyd JMaleny, Australia1,778 contributionsFree and Quite LovelyTake a disused and decaying raised railway line and turn it into a 1.5 mile elevated garden, walkway and outdoor art installations with interesting views along its length? That's New York for you. Free and another one of those uniquely New York experiences really worth doing.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 28 February 2024
- JackOld Bethpage, New York3,409 contributionsGreat walk in NYC!The High Line is a must visit in New York City. It is a 1.45 elevated walk through the Meatpacking District, Chelsea, and Hudson Yards. The High Line takes you above roads, with plenty of shade in the form of trees. I highly recommend!Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 15 March 2024
- JohnDeereQueenBay of Plenty Region, New Zealand73 contributionsVisually interesting city walking track situated above roads on a disused railway line.Interesting walking track made on a disused railway line. Visually attractive scuptures, attractive garden plantings and some great views of that part of the city and over to New Jersey. The hardworking team who developed this walk have done an excellent job. Definitely worth a visit!Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 16 March 2024
- travellerjock141 contributionsA different NYCThis was a great way to see the city in a different way. The walkway was broad with lots of interesting art and view points. Take care to know where you’re going to join. We didn’t go from the start and we had to walk alongside it a little to get access but it’s easy to achieve. We coupled it with a visit to Chelsea market which was perfect. Worth your timeVisited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 16 March 2024
- AwayDays_RichMacclesfield, United Kingdom1,502 contributionsEarly year sunshine and few touristsFirst day of March and a beautifully sunny Friday. We walked the full length from the Hudson Yards to Chelsea Market, stopping off then to the Meatpacking district. We actually went on to Greenwich and the West Village and beyond, about 11 miles all told, what a fantastic day. Better to go when it's not busy and you can just meander and take in all the architecture and the views. The foliage and fauna does need some work, there's a lot of dead stuff. It's early on in the year and it's a lengthy project but the few people we did see working were literally cutting the grass with scissors.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 March 2024
- Devan K30 contributionsFor Architecture LoversThe High Line is must to do in NYC. We joined it on the North-end just off W 30th at the famous pink tree. This experience exceeded our expectations even though the gardens are still recovering from the brutal NYC winter. The walkway is safe and clean. The surrounding commercial and residential apartments are surreal and a real treat for art and architecture lovers. We walked the entire High Line south which took less than 40 minutes with lots of stops for photo opps. There are very exit points along the way. We visited the Chelsea market (also recommended) and took the High Line back to and exited at the Bloomberg building.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 March 2024
- Camila MSao Paulo, SP33 contributionsArchitecture and HistoryLots of architecture and perfect spots for great photos of the city. The work that was done in this area of the city is incredible, I started at Chelsea Market and walked to Vessel. There are several entry/exit points along the way, but it's worth going through all the points and enjoying the old mixed with the new...Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 March 2024

- Danielle RLeicester, United Kingdom944 contributionsPartly closedUnfortunately there was parts of the high line closed for maintenance when we were in NY so we couldn’t walk the full length. What we could walk was enjoyable and nicer than walking the sidewalk. Also has some of the nicest public restrooms, which are hard to come by.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 April 2024
