Great trip to gain an appreciation of the forest, coast and savannah lands on the way to the Tip. Much to see and experience. The vehicles a little cramped for those with long legs but worth it at the end. Disappointed that I did not not seize the opportunity in some spare time to do the Dubuji Boardwalk immediately opposite FNE / Camelot Close at Cape Tribulation during the day, even though we did it at night and did another day forest walk. FNE vehicles very well suited to the demands of the terrain and the leaders experience in the region is excellent. If you want to get to this part of Australia and do not have have abilities and equipment to do this independently then this 9 day tour is probably for you. Other operators utilise larger vehicles which probably limit certain access and some itinerary.

Jason was our guide for this night walk and was exceptional; aside from being very knowledgeable of forest life and the local history, he spotted and identified a ton of insects, reptiles, and animals throughout the walk. He was also hilarious with good stories and engaging with the tour group. I have recommended this night walk to many people since.

My mom and I went on the Cooktown tour and had Kane as our guide. I can’t say enough good things about him. His passion for doing good for the earth and love for nature are evident and frankly inspiring. I am a nature/ animal scientist and learned so much. Kane was also more than respectful when talking about the aboriginal history of the areas we passed through; he had asked permission to travel where he did and acknowledged each and every nuance related to aboriginal culture. We only wish we could’ve had another day to soak up more of his knowledge. We learned so much and it was my favorite part of all of my travels.

This ranks up there with one of the best rainforest walks we have taken. The host was extremely well informed, knowledgeable about the forests of Australia, and engaging. He shared his strong passion for the animals, bugs, and snakes of the local area. Besides all of this, he has a sense of humor! Our 1.5 hour scheduled tour turned out to last well past the 2 hr mark, which was fine with us since we had a small group of enthusiasts. If we return to Australia, we will definitely take this tour again.

I had done the same route in the morning alone. At night and accompanied by the guide, the forest was transformed. He showed us all the little details of the various species of animals, plants that live in this forest The guide has been inexhaustible and it makes the visit last much longer than expected: a real happiness

We were super lucky to get a guide called Kane. Being a local Kane was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about the surrounding area, flora and fauna and history. I cannot recommend this guide and experience enough if you can guarantee to get Kane I would absolutely do it!!!. Kane is a super unique guy with an incredible talent and attitude, if we could have we would have been out all night with him. I thank you Kane and Far North for the great experience from start to finish. Also thank you Kane with the help getting all the amazing macro photos we wanted!!! And keep up the fungi studies brother you’ll get that PHD if you put your mind to it :).

Thanks to FNE for a great trip with a knowledgeable guide. That's what made this trip a great one. Willing to take the extra step to ensure we ticket things off our bucket list. Thanks Jason.

Kane was so passionate about the Cape and rain forest and with that provided a comprehensive and holistic view of the habitat in it's entirety from bugs, to animals, plants, fungi and even bioluminescence. So amazing. You could do the tour day after day and still see something new and exciting.
