Lively and noisy but an experience all should do.
Many cities in various Asian countries have crowded and noisy areas like this. Admittedly, with all the motorbikes, cars, lack of sidewalks and bikes parked on what’s left of any sidewalk, it can be difficult to walk. Not to mention the noise, food smells and people sitting in front of the restaurants and coffee shops. It makes for good photographs however. Walk carefully and don’t be careless with your cellphone and money as it makes for easy pickings for pickpockets. It seems like this area has the most foreigners of any city in Vietnam. Overall it’s fun, especially in the evening when a zillion people are out. Howard S.

Hanoi's Old Quarter is a maze of alleyways and hidden gems! Are you ready to explore traditional houses, bargain at street food stalls, find delicious restaurants, and immerse yourself in local culture? You might get lost or fall into a maze, but isn't that fun part of Hanoi's old quarter? Shall we come and begin our labyrinth adventure?

A labyrinth-like adventure of chaos and healing awaits!
A must-see on a trip to Hanoi is the bustling Old Quarter. Step inside and you're in a world of RPG! The narrow, maze-like alleys are packed with colorful stalls, the smell of pho, mountains of clothes, suspicious souvenirs... you never know what you'll find! But don't be surprised, there are also healing spots scattered throughout this chaos. Entrust yourself to the silence of a historic temple and take a break in a lush park, just like a recovery point in an RPG! This gap is interesting too. There are also a few people who can speak Japanese, so it's easy to communicate. If you get lost, a shopkeeper may even guide you. Just like an NPC in a game, that will also become a travel memory. Hanoi Old Quarter is a place full of excitement, healing, and adventure. If you like RPGs, you'll definitely be hooked! Are you ready? Let's go on an adventure!

Lively neighborhood that you have to see
Really worth seeing! You can buy everything here, from food to clothes, flowers, souvenirs, just about anything. Very lively district, which is frequented by many Vespas and scooters. There are shops here that you can go into, but also street food, street vendors and traders on bicycles. If you are in Hanoi, this district is a "must".

Great area to wander through enjoy and discover.
A large old town area with many streets and side streets unfortunately all full of bikes even if you get rid of the cars but that’s Vietnam! Intrigued by the train going through a busy narrow street, loved all the cafes and trying different coffees and teas. Many interesting shops with negotiation to be done and vibrant markets and stalls! Loved it!

    Timeless Charm
We discovered the heart of Vietnam's capital, the Old Quarter, a place where the pulse of Hanoi's heritage beats the strongest. Amidst the bustling street life and the vibrant nightlife, we found ourselves enveloped in an eclectic mix of old and new. The narrow, meandering streets brimmed with an energy that's both exhilarating and intimate, perfect for couples like us seeking both adventure and romance. By day, we explored the myriad of hidden gems—from quaint coffee shops tucked in ancient nooks to artisanal shops echoing the craftsmanship of yesteryears. As night fell, the area transformed, with streets lined with locals and travelers alike, all drawn to the magnetic atmosphere of the Old Quarter's after-dark offerings. Our journey through the Old Quarter was a sensory delight, a testament to Hanoi's ability to preserve its soulful past while embracing the thrum of modern life. It's a place we'll return to, for every visit unveils new secrets and stories waiting to be part of our shared memories.

Old quarter - Hanoi. Fun and vibrant
Loved this place for its vibrancy, individuality and creative use of space and lighting. Full of culture and colour and history. Definitely recommend a walk through, down beer street is great at night. But watch the donut ladies - they like to short change you after trying to distract. You will be asked to enter every pub, but they take no for an answer quite well here. Cheap food and beer. I enjoyed staying around this area for a few days.
