THE 10 CLOSEST Hotels to BTS Skytrain

Hotels near BTS Skytrain

The BTS Skytrain is one of the most efficient ways of getting around Bangkok, with over 60 stations across three lines. Avoid the infamous Bangkok jam and hop on the train—it stops by loads of major tourist attractions like Chatuchak Weekend Market, Lumpini Park, ICONSIAM and the Jim Thompson House Museum. Depending on how long you'll be in Bangkok, you can get a single journey ticket, a one-day pass, and a rechargeable Rabbit stored value card. But note that the tickets and passes are not valid on the subway (MRT) or Airport Rail Link (ARL). – Tripadvisor

    BTS is fast and convenient way to get around Bangkok
    The BTS is a very convenient way to get around Bangkok. We stayed in Sukhumvit area in easy reach of Asok and found it pretty easy to get around. Buying a day ticket or multi day ticket is the way to go to save time purchasing tickets for each trip.

    BTS = Magic Carpet Ride
    It will be daunting. You will get turned around. But if you do get lost, no need to panic. You will find a map, an app or someone who can help. Remember, it’s an adventure for you and try to keep fear at bay. Bangkok is safe day or night. I advise you to get your own BTS card at the office located inside any BTS station - just take ten minutes and show your passport there. Save yourself the frustration of buying individual tickets. The turnstiles will flash the balance on your card every time you go through so you’ll know when to top it up. The BTS is a magic carpet ride to so many attractions in this city. Enjoy!

    Very reliable
    Bangkok BTS’s one of the best railway networks in the world! It connects to MRT too which let you access to anywhere in Bangkok efficiently with convenience. It’s clean, reliable and fast. You can get your tickets at the vending machine (bilingual) or the counter easily. Staff are enthusiastic and friendly. They’re always patient and very willing to assist you with their hospitality. Most passengers in Bangkok are polite and behaved too. Very comfortable to ride on the BTS

    Excellent way to avoid Bangkok traffic
    The Skytrain is a great way to move around Bangkok. Coverage of Bangkok is rather limited but if you want to travel in the centre it is great. Getting tickets is simple and cheap from the machines or the ticket office. Trains are clean and everybody is polite. They can get very busy at peak times. Unfortunately you need different tickets for the underground metro (which is equally good).

    Very convenient
    We are very familiar with train/subway systems from various countries. It was easy to take the BTS sky train from our hotel. We purchased a day-pass for 150 Baht ($4) where we were allowed to take unlimited number of trains. The only downside is it doesn’t seem to go to many if the tourist destinations, such as various temples & riverside cruise spot.

    Worth it over congested road traffic
    We used the BTS to travel to the Chatuchak weekend market. A return was about 62 baht per person, but we bought a day pass for 150 baht which gives you unlimited travel on the green line for the day. So we went from Chong nunsi station to Mo Chit station for the markets. Stopped at National Stadium for MBK mall on the way back, then back to the original station. The air rail was quite crowded and we ended up having to stand for most of the journeys but at least it was air conditioned in the humid weather and the staff working were helpful in telling you which platform you needed. I would recommend this as the traffic in Bangkok is very busy on the road. Just be careful which way you exit the station as we walked for 10 mins before realising we were going the wrong way!

    Top 5 skytrain in the world
    The skytrain system in Bangkok is one of the safest cleanest easiest to access systems in the world. Probably top 5 in the world. A great option for travel during rush hours and a must take a ride as a tourist to see another reason why living in Bangkok is great
