The most gripping of all the war memorials
For me, this is the ultimate war memorial. While uniformly gray, the Pancho clad statues slogging through the field have a compelling life to them. Pro tip: try to go at dusk for maximum effect. One of my visits was on a very foggy evening, which was positively overwhelming.

    Awesome memorial
Of all the memorials on the Mall, I think this is the most atmospheric. If you approach from behind, you feel like you are part of the squadron emerging from the forest into the paddy fields. We visited twice, one during the day and the other during the evening. Totally different atmosphere after dark. Worth the trip.

    Reflective Place
A very sombre memorial. Very clean. Visiting in December meant that we had the place to ourselves. Felt very safe. Is very well maintained. The statues were very haunting, and the names of so many dead make you realise the personal sacrifice people made.

    Informative!
This is a combination of a memorial for the victims of the Civil War from 1950 to 1953 and a museum for all the armed conflicts that Korea has experienced over the past ten centuries. The artifacts are numerous and diverse. They even include Civil War aircraft and tanks outside. The whole thing is moving and informative. There appear to be significantly more Koreans than tourists, including at memorial ceremonies. Amateur photographers will regret that it is forbidden to take photos inside the building.
