Experience the awesome natural beauty of the world-famous Twelve Apostles. Rising abruptly from the tempestuous Southern Ocean, these seven limestone stacks are the highlight of the Great Ocean Road. They are best viewed at sunset when the yellow rock turns red, orange and every shade in between.

The tour was, overall, pretty good. It was a bit long and I would recommend that, when returning to Melbourne after dark, the drop off back at the museum be altered because the area was a bit dicy even in the morning when we walked in. We chose to leave the tour at a different drop-off point because of lighting/safety. The pickup point should be noted to be on the SIDE of the museum not the front as there is no place in the front to park and pick up. Could have easily missed the pickup if we didn't see other tour members heading around the side of the building.

We did a day trip from Melbourne with a rental car. The drive is easy and after leaving the M1 the scenery becomes picturesque. Given the amount of time that we had, we could only go to the various 12 Apostles viewing areas. I would recommend staying at least one night in the area to have a better look around the other stretches of the Great Ocean Road.

We planned a vacation in Australia with the first stop in Sydney. We stayed a week in Sydney and flew to Melbourne for a few days. We booked an excursion to visit "Twelve Apostles" with the Sightseeing Tour company. The tour was AMAZING! Our tour guide (Bert) was very knowledgeable and informative about the history and the lay of the land and every stop we made along the way. He spotted some Koalas and Kangaroos in their natural environment and stopped for the group to take pictures and take in the awesome view. The duration of the tour is about 12 hours, but it's priceless for the sites and memories that are capture and would be cherished for a lifetime.

It’s a definitely worth to visit place! There is a short walking (15-20min round walk) from the parking. View is really awesome! You can go there in any hour from sunrise to sunset - every time slot is perfect to see this magical place. Giant free parking, free entrance.

Joined a tour with a chartered van back and forth to see The Twelve Apostles. It was an incredible experience! I would totally recommend joining a tour especially if travelling solo or visiting here for the first time! I joined Go West Tours and was lucky to have Lucy, an experienced guide, leading the tour💯

A stunning site. It was windy and the surf was spectacular. The awesome beauty and the power of wind and water take time to absorb. The atmosphere of rugged wilderness is unfortunately ruined by the huge white concrete slab and bizarre suspended viewing platform which look to be recent additions. It is obviously very busy, but the siting of the car park and visitor centre well away from the cliffs makes it seem less crowded.

Spectacular views well worth the stop when driving along the Great Ocean Road. However very touristy with big car park and lots of Tourist busses. Helicopters buzzing around constantly detract from panorama. It's one of those spots where tourists queue/jostle to get their selfie snaps. However free and has a loo

The twelve apostles (or 7) is picturesque, it offers wonderful scenery and an information centre. When I visited, unfortunately it was incredibly packed. There was barely a place to get a photo, but at least the tourism industry was booming. Overall, it was a great experience.

  • Port Campbell National Park Hotels
The wild Southern Ocean has carved the Port Campbell National Park coastline into formations that are famous the world over - and earned it the nickname of the Shipwreck Coast. Drive the Great Ocean Road and see London Bridge, The Grotto, Loch Ard Gorge and the unmissable Twelve Apostles. The best way to see Port Campbell National Park is to take the Great Ocean Road. This is one of the world's most celebrated scenic drives – and its undoubted highlight is the Twelve Apostles, which tower 45 metres above the Southern Ocean. On a coastline renowned for its spectacular coastal formations it’s easy to overlook London Bridge and The Grotto, which are both as awesome in their own way as the more famous Twelve Apostles.
