It was unusually cold and windy, when we visited Glenelg beach on a late December evening. The beach was bustling with activities. One can travel either by tram, which has a terminal near the beach or by car. However, finding a free car parking in the market place required some effort. We enjoyed walking in the market with bustling shops towards the beach. Strolling along the beach had a relaxing effect on our mind. We sat in a bench near the playground and watched children playing in it.

We took the train from Adelaide. The beach is very pretty although there is no shade (seems typical of Australian beaches). We put our towels under the pier for some shade. The water was flat and warm in the morning. Very nice. There is a beach club right there so we had lunch and relaxed in the afternoon on their comfy couches.

Caught tram out to Glenelg for sunset from ADL city one night. Great atmosphere and plenty of places to eat. Had a meal then watched sunset on Glenelg beach. Lovely town for just wandering around, having a meal and people watching.

Lovely beach and buzzy square with loads of restaurants and bars also ice cream shops and coffee houses. Water fountains for children to run through. Great decorations. Altogether a great place to visit, with wide, clean sand and a safe sea...

Been here many of times. Perfect on a hot day wanting a beach escape, great atmosphere. Nothing on a winters day as expected. Close to being one of the best beaches in Australia. Decent parking nearby.
