    Great hike, great views
This was a challenging but wonderful hike. It's not a terribly long trail, but there is a lot of uphill hiking, some of it steep. The views at the top, however, are spectacular. If you're worried about whether you can handle it, the good news is that you can do a moderate part of the hike to the saddle area where you get excellent views. From the saddle you can clearly see the remaining uphill and make a decision about what you want to do. Also, we rode the gondola up, which cuts off about 1,000 fees of uphill. The part of the trail you miss is just a trail through the woods. So, unless you want to prove how tough you are, or need to save the cost of the gondola, by all means take the gondola and start hiking the trail from there.

A MUST TRY TRACK in QUEENSTOWN!
It's my very first solo hiking. The path is clear. The track mostly in an open space with fascinating view. It also has a non-flush toilet near the Saddle point. The hardest part is from Saddle point to the Summit point. But it was all paid off when I reached the top.

    Worth the walk up
Time was against me, so I walked up the Tiki trail and then to the Ben Lomond lookout. If it says 1 hour I learnt to be kind to me and double it. So 1 hour on tiki trail is for normal people. It took me 2 hours. Nice and rugged with mist challenges in the first quarter. The lookout was great for a light lunch and sunshine. I’ll have to come back to complete this walk. Definantly need the daylight for the Real Ben walk. If you have bad knees or have trifocals I’d suggest the gondola down.

    Best Trail In Queenstown
We did the trai on Januray 5th,2025, the trail itself was challenging but the view above there is totally worth it, the first part of the trail begins to get challenging, full of unstable and not so well maintaied rock , be mind of tree trunks etc as you might fall and hurt yourself. Please be aware, the track itself is 15KM long and took us nearly 8hrs to complete the entire journey, as you go further up into the mountain the track will be even more challenging, at least moderate to high level of fitness is required for the track. There are many great places along the trail where you can take photos and share it with others. There are some things to be aware of, as well. Firstly, bring plenty of snacks and at least 2-3 litres of water with you. Also be aware that the weather above the mountains may change suddenly so bring some clothes or jacket with you as well during the trip. The trail as it leads you further up to the mountain, the trail actually gets easier at around 10mins before the summit, the track conditions then gets very gentle and the climb is quite easy. When you reach the summit, the views above is outstanding and a well deserved break is needed to give enough time to enjoy the views up there. Despite the challenges and the difficulty of the trail, the outstanding views and the difficulty of the track is what makes the track itself and Queenstown special. The trail is totally worth it and rewarding, will definitly come back!
