The Australian War Memorial combines a shrine, a world-class museum, and an extensive archive. The Memorial's purpose is to commemorate the sacrifice of those Australians who have died in war. Its mission is to assist Australians to remember, interpret and understand the Australian experience of war and its enduring impact on Australian society. The Memorial offers a range of guided tours, including a 1 hour highlights audio tour.

Home to the most valuable collection of art in Australia, the national collection comprises over 155,000 works of art, including the world’s largest collection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art. Our significant collection represents the whole of Australian art, modern art worldwide, particularly from Europe and America, and art from across Asia and the Pacific. The collection includes some of the finest examples in Australia of French Impressionism, Dada and Surrealism, the Russian avant-garde, Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art, Minimalism and Conceptual Art. Admission to the Gallery, including the Sculpture Garden planted with native flora and James Turrell’s Skyspace, is free and accessible. Fees may apply for special exhibitions.

Canberra Glassworks is Australia's only cultural centre that is wholly dedicated to contemporary glass art. At its core Canberra Glassworks is a working Glassworks that provides access to glassmaking facilities for glass artists. Canberra Glassworks also provides diverse opportunities for visitors to interact with and learn about glass making and the heritage of Canberra's Kingston Power House. Visitors can meet artists, see glassmaking as it happens, view exhibitions, take tours and have a hands-on experience working with glass. Lanyon Homestead lies at the foot of the Brindabella Ranges and is one of Australia’s premier historic properties. The Precinct’s centrepiece, the 1850s Homestead, has been beautifully restored and furnished. Set within superb gardens the Lanyon includes an historic homestead and outbuildings sited within a working rural property.
