- Paul BPeterborough, United Kingdom4 contributionsWe've been before but not for a few years, and I have to say I think Fantasy Island is a great day out for all the family. The kids (aged 14, 11 and 8) had a superb time and I thoroughly recommend spending a full day here. Wristband prices are good value. I didn't realise beforehand but apparently there is a blue light discount too if you are eligible. In fact the 'worst' part of the day was collecting the wristbands as the queue took ages at 11am. I wonder if the queues to collect inside the tent would have been quicker. There is a wide variety of rides for all ages. Sadly The Odyssey was closed when we were there but everything else was open. The best bit really is that there are generally very short queues - you usually had to wait around 5 minutes max to get on which meant the kids really got their money's worth. I think they went on about 15 rides (some more than once) during the day. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Prices of the food are good. One thing that impressed me that I have never seen in the UK before is that if you keep your QR code from the start, you can download any photos to your phone for free at the end of the day. No need to pay high prices for your ride photos! In summary I think it's a really good value day out, and thoroughly recommend Fantasy Island. The kids slept in the car on the way home which is always a sign of an exciting day out!Visited October 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 October 2024
- Roxys Lodge Scarborough2 contributionsThis is my second time at Fantasy Island and I still really enjoyed it as much as the first time. There are great inside and outside attractions and a good variety of rides. It is quite a lot for younger ones, which is good as it is nice for them to explore different rides. There is a fair bit for the older ones but not sure a wristband would be the best value as maybe only limited to some of the bigger rides, but still plenty. The staff are really friendly but there were a couple that stood out. The girl who worked on the mini swings that spin around was good at getting down to the level of the little ones to help them tap their wrist band and helped them get on the ride whilst making sure the others waited nicely. The other member of staff was the guy on the dodgems. He took time to ensure all the dodgems were pointing the right way to set off safely and to make sure everyone was strapped in. My son had a go on one of the dodgems trying to steer it but ended up not getting the hang of it and was upset and scared, so the man stopped the ride and got him to sit in with me, he was really understanding and pleasant about it. Thanks everyone!Thank you so much for your kind words; they are very much appreciated. I shall pass on your comments to our management team and the highlighted individuals (once we identify them) will get the recognition they obviously deserve for a job well done. See you again soon.Written 3 August 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 29 July 2024
- ruudronTonbridge, United Kingdom60 contributionsVisited for the day with family queued for a long time to by wrist bands and as my son is genuinely disabled electric wheelchair user who can’t walk, I was disappointed that they only offer 50% off for carers but if you have a blue light card you get 30% off the whole family (those that receive carers allowance cant get a blue light card so a bit unfair) anyways i didn't find them overly helpful as they have a policy where one of you has to queue then when you reach the front your disabled person can join you, so we spent most the day being separated in the queues. my younger child was disappointed that at least 5 rides were shut due ti the winds but no discounted is offered due to this. car parking is also expensive at £8 for the day - blue badges aren't exempt from this either. Tbh i dont feel like it was good value for money and i wouldnt go again 👎Thank you for your review. We're very sorry to hear that your visit was anything less than satisfactory. We take your feedback seriously and have communicated it to our team for immediate consideration. We're committed to improving and hope to show you a better experience on your next visit.Written 7 September 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 25 August 2024
- Pippa LIsland of Malta, Malta8 contributionsWe were almost put off a day trip away from Butlins from the reviews, but are so glad we went. Yes, it feels a bit tacky in places, and weird that any old Joe can walk in off the street (we kept a very close eye on the kids) but it was great that Grandma could come in without paying for things she wasnt going to use. It definitely feels more like a funfair than a theme park, but my days, the rides are GOOD! There were barely any queues (last Fri in Aug) so to get so many big rides in was amazing. Their free photo service where you just tap your wristband on your photo after riding has given us some great keepsake memories that would have cost an arm and a leg at a Merlin site. Yes it does all feel crowded in on itself, and like an extension of the carpark, but there was less walking between the rides and no stupid long, snaking queues to sit in. I think the longest we spent was about 35 mins, but that was for the go-karts which were a separate, paid for extra. The amusements seemed better than Butlins with better prizes available (tho still lots of plastic tut) and loads more rides that the 1m crew could go on (Butlins minimum height seemed quite off, as the kids have been on some of those same rides at Merlin sites but they weren't allowed there). With the 30% off the family ticket prices with the Bluelight card, it was extremely reasonable. You could even pick up a cone ice cream for £2. Where can you get a £2 ice cream these days??? We didn't enter the market, so can't comment on that, but would recommend the American style diner outside at the back. It looked a bit rough as we went in, but the food was really good (you can just see it in one of my photos). There were loads that we didn't even get to try so I would recommend getting there for 10am to make the most of the day. There is a lot to get through. The hardest thing about the whole experience was working out which tickets we needed (top one for thrill seeking adults) and how to get out of the carpark 😆 All in all, we have decided that if we make the 4hr trek back to Skegness in a few years, we will get a caravan from their site with a 2 day pass and sack off Butlins, with maybe just a day trip in for the swimming pool.We are so appreciative of your comments and thrilled that you chose to share them. It's always heartwarming to receive positive feedback, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.Written 7 September 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 September 2024
- CV_Mayrhofen37 contributionsPositives: Rides were good & queues weren’t very long. Most of the staff members were really friendly & the lady staffing the ‚Twister‘ ride was hilarious, dancing & hyping up the ride-goers. Negatives: Long admission queues, of which there were only 2. We probably queued for about 45 minutes at least to get our wristbands, but it was a hot day, so was to be expected. People smoking throughout the park, including in the queues. Perhaps designated smoking areas would be better. The place is generally quite run down and tired looking.Your feedback provides good and bad points so we thank you for that - identifying areas we can improve will go a long way to focusing our management teams on where further effort needs to be employedWritten 18 August 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 15 August 2024
- Barry GKing's Lynn, United Kingdom84 contributionsVisited with our adult disabled son. He is 5cm shorter than the minimum height to ride alone, but has previously been on most of the rides accompanied by his taller sister. We asked if it was possible for him to ride those where he was above minimum height, and the ride manager spoke with us and gave permission for him to go on certain rides. He had a fantastic day, we just let him do his own thing, and he was kind enough to go on a couple of rides with his mum. We had pre booked a wristband for him, and an i card for us, we worked out on individual ride prices we had saved over £35 for his rides alone. When going for a second ride on one coaster the staff member Joss would not let him ride, the ride manager was called and explained the situation, and Jon was able to ride again, but we were very impressed with Joss and his concern with the safety of our son, he did a great job and was flexible enough to call the ride manager to resolve the situation. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful. We missed the worst of the heavy rain by accessing the inside rides in the pyramid, and had lunch inside, and ended up having a great day out.Visited October 2024Travelled with familyWritten 22 October 2024

- MrsCMiddlesbrough, United Kingdom14 contributionsVisited once 25 years ago, but first time visiting as an adult with children. We were not disappointed! With a 6 year gap between my two we often struggle with places which accommodate both. There is so much for all ages to do here. The staff were all very helpful. We felt it was good value for the wristband prices it gave both children the option to go on any height suitable ride. Indoor and outdoor markets have a wide variety of things but we were more focused on the rides 🤣. Little things like face painting and slushes are on the expensive side, but it's to be expected I think. Queues for rides weren't too bad, the longest we waited was 30 minutes for the toucan tour ride. We enjoyed ourselves as much as the kids! Would return if in the area. What an awesome review - thnak you A little disappointed that you won't make a special trip to see us, but next time you are "in the area", we'd love to see you { Too needy? Sorry lol :) }Written 11 June 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 31 May 2024
- Kerry CPeterborough, United Kingdom71 contributionsI went with my 8 year old daughter and purchased the wrist bands , very good value for money as we spent the whole day there. Went and all the rides she could go on and the queues weren’t long at all . We ate in a cafe under millennium and was really nice food and good value for money . The staff were all friendly. Only thing that put me off slightly was on millennium , one of the male attendance ( who was an adult , not a young teenager ) was flirting and chatting up 14 year old girls which I felt was inappropriate. He also thought it was funny to run when the ride started to the emergency button which made people panic .Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review. We're glad to hear you were satisfied with your experience and we can't wait to welcome you back! If you could contact me on Enquiries@FantasyIslandresort.co.uk with full details, including the date and time of your negative experience with Millenium staff, we will be able to address that appropriately.Written 3 August 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 July 2024
