The park was closed on January days of our stay in Austria. Everything completely enclosed, including the famous Ferris wheel. There was a bit of snow but for a city like this, in this climate, it's normal and at least some attraction had to be open. The wheel is closed even in windy conditions. Check on the official website the opening days to avoid getting there unnecessarily (it is a little further from the center). When open I think it's a lot of fun (free admission to the park and every attraction you pay for).

The place was very nice. The things that I want to point out are the big ferris wheel, that was stopping at every single cabin to get cleaned, not just letting the people get in, which was taking a lot of time and the attraction Volare, where I got my head driven left and right non-stop. The Madam Tussauds Sculptures were very nice and realistic. It is a great place for kids over 12 years old. The price of some things was very high, so if you really want to have fun, prepare a lot of money before you go.

Fantastic playground! Suitable for any age! Very nice and safe rides. Another very good thing in my opinion is the fact that you pay for the single ride rather than the entrance to the playground, this allows you to pay only for the rides you want to do. I recommend going there in the evening even if not all the games are open because it is really very beautiful.

This is a great place to spend a few hours. My 11 year old could have done many more rides and my 9 year old was ok with a few of them. Some are very cheesy, like an old "scary" car on tracks, and some are good for thrill-seekers (height, speed, upside down). There are tons of bumper car and go-kart tracks throughout, lots of horror-type houses. We went at opening and as they got the day started it seemed like many rides were not running. Since they are expensive, that was ok, we just picked from the ones that were open, but I'm not sure how you can tell ahead of time which ones will be running or not. Our afternoon was hot, and there isn't much shade or indoor space to cool off. We had a great time but that did factor into our time spent there. You must do the Prater Tower! It is very high but super fun, and you have amazing views all over the park and city. Everyone's favorite ride. I would go back here just to do that one ride again.

The Prater: partly the large playground in Vienna, suitable for everyone, young and old. There are several attractions, from the most famous and centuries-old "Wheel" to the classic roller coaster and beautiful company: all attractions always valid, although partly also very dated, which make the place also a kind of time machine. The Madame Thussaud Wax Museum is also located in the same place. In short: there is something for everyone. Easy to get to the Prater with the usual metro: less easy to get away from if you like the subject! Personally I couldn't find enough offers for food and drink, so I had to go away for dinner, but even here it depends on what you're looking for (I wanted a complete typical Viennese meal). I think the place will be experienced more intensely in "hot" periods: in winter, subzero, either do something or there is not much to combine in the whole area. However a nice place to visit absolutely if you come to Vienna for vacation.

We purchased the viena pass so the ride on the giant wheel was included. It was funny but very long. We had plenty of options to eat along the park (casinos) however we thought it might be because of the proximity of Christmas. There are restaurants too! We paid only 5 euros in the attraction of the tower with a free fall type descent, we were surprised by the positive. There were closed attractions and in the information of the park said that depending on the weather conditions can happen.

The Prater is an institution like the Tivoli in Copenhagen or the Dom in Hamburg in the summer. The trains are paid for individually. Highlights are VOLARE, where you fly lying on your stomach. A special thrill. Even the 95 m high chain flyer exceeds that in Hansapark by 20m.

I wandered through here when it was mostly closed so there was no admission fee. It was interesting seeing a mostly closed amusement park. I paid €5 to go on an indoor roller coaster which was short but fun. A few food spots were open and the lights on several rides were up and running which added to the atmosphere.

This is a fun night out with kids. The park is a little dated but quaint. Huge range of rides. We walked around and chose a few to go on as they are expensive if you are paying for more than one person. The rides we chose were good fun and good value for money. All the ride attendants very friendly and helpful when we asked about suitability for our daughter. The park was clean and we felt safe wandering around at night. Most rides are cash only and I read a tip before I went not to get cash out on site because you get a premium on withdrawals. There was a good range of snacks and drinks available and we didn’t think the prices were too bad.

The Prater is one of the oldest and most famous amusement parks in Europe and its Ferris wheel, since the end of the nineteenth century, when it was built, has become one of the symbols of the city. The previous times I had been in Vienna I had never had the opportunity to visit this park but this last time, staying right nearby, I decided to go there. It is basically a large carnival with attractions that are now a bit vintage but with their colorful lights still have a certain charm. The park has considerable dimensions and inside there are also numerous restaurants and breweries, admission is free, attractions are paid individually. Personally I found it an enjoyable place and also a bit nostalgic.
