    Great area especially at night
This is a very charming area full of restaurants. I came here for dinner a couple of times and enjoyed the atmosphere. It was full of locals and tourists alike. There are a lot of good non-touristic restaurants unlike the more popular touristic areas.

    Eat Your Heart Out.
Trastevere is a tranquil district of Rome sought after by tourists and locals alike. I relished my jaunts through the cobbled streets soaking up prized medieval churches, small quaint shops sporting the most unique wares, an endless array of eateries and bars and the revealing overhanging laundry lines. The Trastevere is a coveted area for dining especially at night when streets bourgeon with crowds on the hunt for food. I gorged on world class pizza, limoncello and gelato all day at restaurants I couldn't pronounce.

    Dining in Trastevere
Stayed at the MZ Hotel close to the bridge to Trastevere prior to our cruise the next day. Visited Trastevere at night and had an excellent meal at La Scala Roma restaurant. One of the best meals of the trip.

A charming neighborhood giving a glimpse of the real Rome
My wife and I enjoyed our meanderings among the streets of Trastevere during our extended weekend in Rome following a Viking Ocean Cruise. We had dinner one evening at Spirito DiVino. We also visited a market in one of the piazzas and bought some Italian spices. The area has a neat vibe that gives you an impression of what Rome was like in the 50s and 60s.

    Vibrant and really cool place
There's a vibrant, bohemian feel about this place, full of life, musicians, beautiful restaurants and cafes. Only got to enjoy one drink as we were leaving early but the bars looked to have a good atmosphere. Definitely worth seeking out and spending some time here when in Rome.

    Trendy and affordable
Trendy neighborhood that doesn’t feel too touristy. I’d say this is definitely the neighborhood you want to stay in when you come to Rome. There are many affordable and delicious authentic restaurants and it’s close to all tbe main attractions. They even have little stalls set up and there was a small little Christmas market in the area during the beginning of December.

This area for this side of town.
We stayed in Trastevere for 3 nights and loved it. The graffiti is a bit hard to get used to but does not seem to reflect the safety of the area. The streets come to life in the evening with restaurants and stores. It's lovely to walk about and enjoy the vibrance. We specifically stayed on this side of the town for the first 3 nights of our visit to Rome in order to walk to everything from this side.

Take a trip back in time to Jewish history
Trastevere hosts Rome's oldest synagogue; is no longer used for worship by the Jewish community. In the 16th Century, Trastevere's numerous Jewish community was forced to cross the River Tiber and occupied Rome's Ghetto. Trastevere has narrow streets with historic houses; it's filled with bars and eateries. Locals and travelers flock to Trastevere's cobbled streets.

    Amazing old neighborhood
Each time we visit this city, we always spend some time wandering through Rome’s older neighborhoods. We cross the Tiber River and away we go. You immediately notice a difference once you’re there. It’s like stepping back in time. We try to find new restaurants with each visit. The smaller cafes and restaurants seem to have more of intimate vibe. You don’t feel overcrowded like you would feel near the tourist attraction areas of the city. Even if their was a language barrier, w we e’d often feel right at home by the hospitality of the staff.

    You should go to Trastevere
A must visit part of Rome. Just over the river. So many lovely bars and restaurants and live music. As you cross the river you can feel the atmosphere change, more relaxed, less traffic. It’s pretty, quirky, fun. Not expensive.
