    Expansive piazza with beautiful fountains
The Piazza Navona is a wonderful expansive piazza that epitomizes the atmosphere of Rome. It has the baroque architecture and Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers and an openness that is very appealing. It is near many restaurants, three of which we dined at during our extended weekday in Rome following a Viking Ocean Cruise. We strolled through it several times during our visit to Rome this past November.

Probably the Most Famous Piazza in Rome
This is probably the most famous Piazza in Rome. Large pedestrian open space full of baroque architecture marvels namely the Bernini's Four Rivers fountain. Full of street artists, performers and painters. Surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops. It is a place not to be missed once in Rome.

    loved it!
I came here the morning that I arrived in Rome and had a great time. The piazza is stunning, as is the church inside. It's all free to visit and I had some lovely weather, too. Awesome place to spend a few hours enjoying magnificent architecture and food + drinks, which are served by several nice restaurants around the square. If you're visiting Rome, put Piazza Navona on your list for sure.

    Lovely area with beautiful fountains.
This is one of my favorite places to visit in Rome. It was once a Roman arena but it is now filled with many restaurants and cafes ( a little expensive but worth it to get a drink and take in the sights ). There are three fountains with the center one being the most spectacular. It is also only a short walk to the Pantheon. I would definitely recommend a visit to the Piazza.

Large vibrant square in the historical area
We were staying nearby and it was only a 5 minute walk to this large vibrant square. Piazza Navona has three impressive fountains, including la Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi with its large obelisk at the centre. The baroque church of Sant'Agnese in Agone is also located nearby. Surrounding the square are many restaurants and bars. Its long oval shape was the result of being the site of the Stadium of Domitian - where festivals and sporting events took place. This is a really pleasant and vibrant place to hang out, have a drink alfresco or dine at one the many restaurants in the piazza and people watch. Its a must visit when in Rome.

    Prettiest piazza in Rome
Piazza Navona was built on the site where the 1st century Stadium of Domitian (Circus Agonalis) once stood with 20,000 spectators cheering over athletic competitions, thus defining its present elongated oval shape. It was eventually converted to a delightful public square since the 15th century, hosting many festivals and theatrical events over the centuries which continues till today with street performers such as dancers and magicians enlivening the atmosphere. It is also the site of Rome’s main Christmas Market in December. The piazza is a showcase of Baroque masterpieces, anchored by the 17th-century Baroque-styles Palazzo Pamphilj and Church of Sant’Agnese in Agone. But the show-stoppers are undoubtedly the 3 splendid fountains, namely the Fountain of the Four Rivers, Fontana del Moro and Fountain of Neptune, which wow visitors with their stunning sculptural creations. No wonder this square is often regarded as the prettiest piazza in Rome!

    Fabulous square
This is a fabulous picturesque square in the centre of this beautiful city. It is dominated by one of many obelisks to be found in the city. There are a number of restaurants and cafes in the square which, unfortunately, take advantage of tourists with their pricing. Much better to venture a short distance to find much more cost effective offerings

    Do the underground listening tour.
We visited this a couple of times but by far the best was doing the underground tour which can be done just by walking into the booking office. You can see part of the history at one end and then the office is just around the corner where you use headsets to listen to the information and they walk you over to the other side of the old arena and you go underground there as well well worth it. Interesting.

Piazza Navona of the La Roma
The remarkable skill and artistry showcased in the city's fountains and squares is truly mesmerizing. The Piazza is particularly spectacular, offering a breathtaking sight. I recommend visiting during the day to fully appreciate their beauty, but don't miss the chance to return in the evenings for a completely different atmosphere and experience.

    Stunning
Beautiful area that is so stunning to visit and extremely close to the Pantheon. The church is the middle is free to enter and stunning. The area is dotted around with cafes where you can sit and watch the world go by. Highly recommend a visit here.
