El Retiro is a park in the heart of Madrid. It's simply gorgeous, with different areas. You can just walk and enjoy the views. There are several places where you can eat or drink something. There are also some areas where people to sport or just run. Totally worth

Our plans fell through for an afternoon, so we decided to spend it here. There are many things to do and see, and there are lots of shaded places to just relax and recharge. Well worth a few hours, or even just a leisurely stroll on the way to other adventures...

We spent couple of hours walking around this absolutely beautiful, very large park. Lots of things to do for children and adults. Lots of cafes and a lake that you could hire a boat to row around the lake

The park is very big and you could wander around it for ages. There are many different types of trees and at the time I went they were all in beautiful green colors. If you like walking through parks and trees u should come, but it probably isn’t a must see.

A wonderful park in a large urban city . Saw numerous people going for a run along with families taking a leisurely stroll. Felt safe doing so. The only downside was just we were there in November and it was drizzling the whole time which for us was a better time of the year than the heat of summer. Great place to walk around with the kids especially when they get fed up with museum fatigue. Enjoy.

Parque del Retiro Madrid is a grand and majestic park filled with lush green gardens, tranquil lakes, and stunning monuments. It's a must-see for anyone visiting the city! With its winding pathways, beautiful sculptures, and tranquil atmosphere, it's a great place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

IT is fantastic place to find a breath, and a little calm after visiting all of this museums and other activities. Park is rather big, so event if there is mass of people, you find a place for yourselfes. Place is Hood for everyody, families with children, couples, older person as well

This for me is a far nicer park than most of the ones you see in a city like London. Admittedly, the clear blue skies and warm weather always help, but I think it is a variety of elements that make this park far better than many other urban parks. For one, the size helps, it is very large, so be prepared to do a lot of walking to get around it. Secondly, it is split into many sections, so you'll see some areas full of people doing exercise or yoga, other areas where people simply walk, others where people tend to eat their lunch and so on, but this in itself allows you to always find your own corner and your own pace in the park even if it is busy, which it inevitably usually is on good weather days, as it's a very nice park in the middle of a busy capital city! The water features and surrounding architecture are also impressive and relaxing. Overall, this is just a very nice urban park and definitely worth visiting during any trip to Madrid, for business or leisure.

This was the park to visit during our trip to Madrid. It was very accessible with its own stop on the Metro. Besides being a huge park to walk around and absorb the scenery, we also enjoyed 1. Cristal Palace - a large structure made of glass and iron but closed and seemingly under renovation. A small pond was in front and popular with ducks and geese. 2. Alfonso XII monument’s lake where people were practicing their rowing. 3. Statue Walk - a gravel pathway lined with statues of Spanish royalty 4. Velasquez Palace - a free exhibit of modern art was ongoing. The Museo Reina Sofia was responsible for the exhibition. We ended our visit at the Neptune Fountain outside the park.

Parque del Retiro is a very large park and green oasis in Madrid city. It covers more than 125 hectares and more than 15,000 trees. It is now named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park has a large artificial lake, where you can rent a rowing boat. You can also visit Velázquez Palace and Glass Palace. There are lots of seating areas for picnics and several restaurants to dine and have a drink.
