Scone Palace - 5 star Historic House visitor attraction. Open 7 days from 10.00am - 5.30pm (please note last entry is 4.00pm). Guides are on hand in the palace as well as multi-lingual information for tours of the palace. Tickets for Palace & Gardens or just the Gardens can be booked via our website or you can pay when you arrive. Come along and visit Moot Hill the 'Crowning Place of Scottish Kings' and the chapel. Have a wander around our 100 acres gardens and grounds, including our Murray Star Maze, Pinetum, Douglas Fir and Kids Adventure Playground . Our Coffee Shop serves hot & cold food daily & kids lunch boxes. We're dog friendly, so bring your family pet, there are dog water bowls near our ticket hut & outside our Food Shop. We have two cafe seating areas and the Old Kitchen welcomes dogs as well! Our Food Shop has a selection of products that we try to source locally and our Gift Shop has something for everyone - even pocket-money gifts. You can expect a warm welcome :-)

Perth Art Gallery, one of the UK's oldest collections, features works by influential modern Scottish artists, including Joan Eardley, Sir William MacTaggart, Calum Colvin, and Alison Watt. The gallery is the new home of the Fergusson Collection, which features works by JD Fergusson and Margaret Morris. The gallery offers family activities, a shop, a coffee bar, and toilets.

A tale of two families - Huntingtower Castle was a lordly residence for 300 years, from the 15th to the 18th century. It is associated with two noble families: the Ruthvens (later earls of Gowrie) and, following their downfall in 1600, the Murrays (earls of Tullibardine and later dukes of Atholl). Prior to 1600, Huntingtower was known as the Place of Ruthven.Huntingtower has hosted some famous visitors, and been associated with some dramatic events. Mary Queen of Scots stayed here in 1565, during her honeymoon with Lord Darnley. In 1582, Mary’s son, James VI, was held here against his will by the 1st Earl of Gowrie, in a famous episode known as the ‘Ruthven Raid’.

Elcho Castle is a handsome and complete 16th century fortified mansion with three projecting towers on the banks of the River Tay. This is a castle to explore. Parade up the grand staircase or scurry up the service stair, venture into the well-appointed kitchen and admire the views over the countryside from the high battlements. The remarkably complete house of the 1500s was the country retreat of the wealthy Wemyss family. Its orchard has been replanted with traditional varieties of apple, pear and plum and has become a haven for butterflies and wildlife. The castle still has in place original wrought iron grilles to protect the windows. The interior is complete and roofed, with remains of decorated plasterwork.

Stanley Mills is one the best-preserved relics of the 18th-century Industrial Revolution. Textiles were produced here for 200 years.The mills were built in 1786 at a hairpin bend in the River Tay, where tremendous water-power was available. Machinery was powered initially by water wheels, and latterly by electricity generated by water-powered turbines. As the market changed and new technologies developed, buildings were added, adapted, expanded, shut down, reopened and demolished.The visitor centre tells the stories of those who worked there and the products they made. The superb interactive displays let you discover if your fingers are as nimble as a child labourer’s or compete to see if you are tough enough in business to make the mills profitable.

Perth Museum is a world-class cultural and heritage attraction that highlights the fascinating objects and stories that put Perth and Kinross at the centre of Scotland’s story. At its heart sits the Stone of Destiny, also known as the Stone of Scone, one of Scotland and the UK’s most significant historical objects. Returning to Perthshire for the first time in over 700 years, the Stone is the centrepiece of this new Museum and is free for all to view.
