I used to go to the ThinkTank 20 years ago when I was a kid, and it still has the same charm and excitement that it had then. It’s been really well maintained and has some fantastic new additions to keep with the times. Little Brum was a great place to start whilst we were waiting for the Planetarium show, our 5 year old nephew ran around exploring different jobs and playing dress up. He loved that part and we could get a coffee knowing he was safe/able to see him clearly. It also had room to eat his packed lunch after the show, and had vending machines to provide snacks if you didn’t bring any. Toilets were unisex here, but within the cubicle was the toilet and sink, so it was a family per cubicle almost. The planetarium was a real let down. The show was poorly animated, real budget show, and spent way too long talking about irrelevant things. The person we booked the show with didn’t give any insights into the shows, just basically rushed us to pick the first one. I can’t say they’re all like that, we watched Polaris where a Penguin and Polar Bear go into space, but the space exploration lasted a few minutes and was really brushed over. My nephew is learning about space and was super excited for this, so it was truly a let down and all three of us were just waiting for it to finish by the time it was half way through. The rest of the museum was fantastic though, as it always has been. Super interactive so great for kids of all ages really. We found our nephew to be less interested in the heavy reading parts but we got to explain some cool concepts to him whilst he was learning kinetically. He really enjoyed it and couldn’t wait to tell everyone at school about it when he went in. It’ll be good to return when he’s older/more interested in reading things so that he can take more of the info in but it just makes it great that you can return again. Really fair priced for the whole day experience in my opinion. You don’t get many days out like that anymore and it’s built with the visitor in mind. Parking was fairly good for the city as well, I think it was around £5 for 3 hours.

My sons loved it here, they love engines, cars, motorbikes etc so thjs was perfect. Combined with interactive displays, dinosaurs and animals it was a great few hours spent. We travelled by train so got discount on our entrance fee by using code online and showing our train tickets on admittance, would recommend and visit again.

Visited with our 3 and 5 year old last Saturday. The children loved the top floor and we could have spent most of our time there. We appreciated the hot drinks machine meaning it was £2 each a hot drink rather than an overpriced one. We also visited the planetarium which the kids loved and was just the right length. There is alot to see in the museum and alot of areas certainly felt well loved with buttons not working which was a shame. We were also not told about the stamps on the first floor and only saw it on the way out which was a shame as we think the kids would have loved it. Would have loved a few more hand sanny points around as it is super touchy feely. We will be back when the kids are a little older. Thankyou

Distinctly average. Went in February half term. A lot of the interactive exhibits weren’t working. Big queue to get tokens to play the video games - only to be over in literally seconds. No staff to be seen as you walk around. No guide handed out at the start. Planetarium cost £15 extra for 4 of us and was over in 10 mins with the first part being local primary school children’s drawings. Definitely could do with a revamp. Would likely be better for younger children (I took 2 x 8 year olds and a 12 year old).

After a short but pleasant visit in August, we came again today for a more detailed experience. Sadly, my 9 yr old grandson was heartily disappointed to find the facility CLOSED. They have been selfish to the citizens of Birmingham by working to that city's school hours, and ignoring that of other areas nearby. These don't return to school until midweek, or even next week. How about attracting kids from the world at ALL times, not just when kids, and adults, from the immediate area want to visit? Bye Brum, I might bring him another time, but then again I might NOT.

Very nice outing to Think tank. Kids really enjoyed it and all the exhibits were working. Kids loved the singing robot on the top floor. Mini brum also enjoyable , the kids spent about 30 mins in there and then they wanted to move onto the next floor. Will definitely be back.

Visited with my daughter and grandchildren for the first time in many years (since my daughter was a child in fact). Still so much to see and do and learn and the children loved the interactive displays (although a couple weren't working unfortunately). The Science Garden outside was brilliant and even though it was busy there was plenty for everyone to take part in. My grandson particularly enjoyed the Planetarium show and both children loved Mini Brum. Special thanks to a member of staff called Lee, who despite being fairly new was extremely helpful when we were trying to find our "old favourites", displays from when my daughter was a child. A great day out, fun and educational too.

Alot of spelling and grammar mistakes on information. I did the extra planetarium add on, which was very disappointing. Mainly information about satellites rather than constellations, nebulas, planets etc, this section has so much potential. Some of the interactive exhibitions where broken. Great for children.
