Burano is a wonderful little village, full of little shops and colorful houses. Ideal to visit in spring when the weather is still mild. The most beautiful thing about this place is being able to get lost among the colorful streets. Don't stay on the main streets but venture into the streets where no one goes and you will find that you will be amazed by the cuteness of the place. We then also found a place where they produced the classic Venetian "S" shaped biscuits on the spot. The place is located at this address: San Martino Destra 629 Right Pontinello Foundation. Really good and at a fair price.

Oh my goodness Burano is just so magical. Such an oasis of colour & calm just a short ferry crossing from Venice Island. We wondered around & could have wondered for many hours more at the colourful & pretty houses. So different from Venice & 100% recommend.

Burano is wonderful from every point of view. From Venice it's about 45 minutes by ferry. A thousand times more beautiful than Murano!!! A rainbow, it's really worth spending a couple of hours preferably in the late afternoon, where the tourist influx is lower and the colors are unforgettable. Go!!!!!

For a long time I dreamed of seeing Burano and I finally succeeded. Really beautiful and particular, to see absolutely. We stayed in Lido di Jesolo and by bike we reached TrePorti and then discover that it is impossible to bring the bike to the island because you risk a fine. So we left the bikes in a guarded parking paying €10 for two bikes (madness!!!) and then at the nearby bar we made tickets for Burano round trip paying €38 in two (another madness for 10/15 min boat)... well anyway once disembarked we wandered casually and immortalized the colorful houses with many photos.

A very beautiful island with colourful houses, easily approachable from Venice via regular vaporetto service. These depart from the stop at Fondamente Nove on the north side of the city. Fishermen of the village made colourful houses owing to foggy weather. There are many lace shops which sell beautiful products. A must visit if you are in Venice for 2-3 days.

Were here as a small "youth group" (3 people from 20-29) The island is also known as “beautiful Venice” and not unjustly so. The houses are all brightly coloured and individually painted, there is no road and there are canals all over the islands. To reach by ferry from Lido di Jesolo in about 45min incl. drive. Ferry costs 10€ per person There are also lots of glassware from Murano (the Glass Island) on offer here. Gives some nice souvenirs. The church with its leaning tower is also a highlight

The crown jewel of the 3 main islands that can be visited near Venice. Wonderful, from every corner and from every bridge you can take pictures that seem painted by the multiplicity of colorful houses by the canals. It will remain forever in my memory, of those must-see places.

64 kilometers from the larger city of Venice lies the island of Burano, which consists of four small islands connected by canals and bridges and covers an area of only 20 hectares. The small size makes it really easy to explore the streets, It is absolutely worth walking through the narrow streets of the city to admire the colorful houses, which stand out against the blue sky in a range of pastels and bright colors. Burano and its colorful houses are a tourist attraction on the island along with the lace crafts, but the story behind it is more interesting than you might think, because the locals say that the facades of the houses were painted in different colors to guide the fishermen who worked from sunrise to sunset in the most fearful climate, through the fog. When you return home, the colored facades make it easier to find your way back.

The island of Burano offers a unique experience away from the busy Venice. Approaching the island you are met with a visual feast of colour. The brightly painted houses create a kaleidoscope of pattern and order; each street offers an intriguing glimpse into the everyday lives of its residence.

If you are tired of the crowds in Venice, I would definitely suggest a trip over to Burano. Honestly, my favorite place to see in the Venice region. Incredibly peaceful with gorgeous colors. I highly recommend coming around sunset/dusk, the colors were even more vibrant and the sunset itself was stunning.
