    Interesting and Enjoyable
This is a fun way to spend an hour or so, wandering through the four different ecosystems to view the plants and animals in each. The penguins and puffins were adorable and we enjoyed watching the tamarins, the raccoons and the capybaras. I only wish I could have magicked both the river otters and beavers awake as they were the animals I was most keen to see, being Australian and having neither at home. We found it easy to get to via metro from old Montreal and it was not too crowded.

    Awesome Adventure
If you’re like us and sort of struggled finding things that sounded fun to do when in Montreal, the Biodome is perfect for you! You can book tickets in advance or on sight, but I would order just to save time upon arriving. The Biodome has a few different sections, based upon animals and ecosystems form different parts of the world. Each section was designed perfectly and featured some cool animals. We were bored with the North America area as we see squirrels and raccoons daily, but others would find it cool. I would allot to spend 2 hours here unless you’d like to eat at the cafe inside, then I would say 2-3.

    Not really for adults
If you have children under 10, they will probably love this place. If you go as an adult you are likely to find it underwhelming. The place is full of young children on school visits with very few adults on their own. Personally I found it very sad to see birds in such enclosed environment. You get a good idea of what a prison is like.

    Montreal in winter
We took our 11 year old granddaughter and had a wonderful time. We skated and sledded on Mont Royal, ate at the Time Out Market, visited the fabulous Biodome with its delicious all vegetarian cafe, went to Marche Jean Talon where we bought fabulous cheese and fresh food as well as maple products and we went to a Québécois square dance. It even snowed beautifully for 2 days! It was a great trip.

    Wonderful spending of time
Very short line. Amazing to see all the ecosystems, especially the arctic one. We were done in a hour, and had time for the botanical garden nearby. Only problem is that tickets were a little expensive, but were worth it.

My husband and I stopped here in Montreal. It has you viewing various climate regions around the world and the animals that live there. My favorite was the penguins. With the price for admission and parking, I was a bit disappointed considering it only took an hour to see everything and it did not have as many animals as I expected. We did like that it offered a vegan restaurant.

    Oh well..think before you go.
First let me say that I walk with a cane and there was do much walking that I needed a wheel chair. My girlfriend had to push so that really dampered the stop for her. My son in law had to park.quite a distance away. The majority of my group seemed to enjoy the animal displays in various ecosystems. This is really for younger kids and adult naturists. We wanted to go to the planetarium at added cost, but we would have to wait an hour for the next show Instead we ate some mediocre food at an outdoor food court. What else can I add, a tourist trap

First stop, The Biodome on our Montreal trip, our rain day plan.
We visited the Biodome on Tue 4/30/2024. This was our planned stop because it was raining on our entire trip to Montreal. After the many detours due to road construction we found the underground parking ($25 CND). Many busloads of school children were there on field trips. This site also has separate extensive garden & grounds and a sports arena. Don't confuse this site with the Biosphere across the street. Five unique ecosystems are presented show casing native flora & fauna. a good. leisurely walk through the climate zones. Lots of photo opportunities. Open every day 9:00am-6:00pm. Planetarium (separate fee) open every day with shows every 1/2 hour beginning at 10:45am week days, 9:00 on weekend days, online reservations only. There is a cafe (Canadian currency only or credit card) and a gift shop. Ticket prices vary so check the website. Great for families and all others. Great rainy day activity at a unique site.
