The City of Fernandina Beach is located on beautiful Amelia Island off the Atlantic coast of Florida. Play a round of golf on one of the champion golf courses, or take a tour of the historical sites on the island. Visit the Artrageous Artwalk. The galleries are opened from 5:30pm until 8:30pm the second Saturday of every month. Find pottery, stained glass, local crafts shown alongside fine art, watercolors, and intriguing photography.

Scuba diving, horseback riding, sunbathing... take your pick. "Provo" offers plenty for the happy couple to do, including picture-perfect coastlines to walk along, hand in hand. The island itself is relatively tranquil; try Malcolm Beach to get even further away from crowds.

If you’re a history buff and a die-hard foodie, Chicago’s your kind of town. Take an architectural-history walking tour, then dine at Alinea (the most celebrated molecular-gastronomy restaurant in the U.S.). And don’t miss the Museum of Science and Industry, the biggest science museum in the Western Hemisphere.

Sporting “raccoon eyes”—pale circles where your sunglasses used to be—is something of a badge of honour in Talkeetna. That’s because it means you probably climbed or hiked up Denali, the 20,310-foot peak that sits at this former mining town’s back door. Rough-hewn logs are the building material of choice for everything in town from humble cabins to grand lodges. The signage is largely done by hand, so the letters are often squished together because the painter ran out of room. There are plenty of outlets here ready to take you on an adventure, whether it’s fly fishing, whitewater rafting, or soaring in a propeller plane over the Alaskan Range (landing on a glacier is optional).
