Essence Theatre Productions is an independent theatre production company based in Wyndham, that offers night theatre at Werribee Park each weekend all year round. There are two shows 'What Was That?' performed in the historic mansion and from 2022 'The Dress'. . Both are based on history, highly entertaining and poignant. 'What Was That!' is a roaming play, whilst 'The Dress' is performed to a seated audience in the grand hallway of Werribee Park Mansion. It’s founder (and author of the work), Alaine Beek, has also written, produced and toured her multi-award winning play, Point of No Return - a riveting drama based on the real events at our first boys prison, Point Puer, Tasmania. Her other plays include, 'The Scrunch Test', 'Down to Earth', 'Jack and Millie (selected for 2022 VCE Drama playlist), 'Testing Nothing' and 'A Good Coffee'.
