I stayed here with a friend for 3 nights and arrived via baz bus. Just make sure you book your shuttle and confirm it as our guy got the dates wrong and we ended up waiting 2 hours for him to pick us up (after he argued with me that I had the dates wrong) The lodge is great. Yes,...

Thank you so much for your detailed review , positive and constructive feedback. We shall have a meeting with the taxi association regarding your pick up from Kokstad and return to Kokstad to fine tune their service by offering some advice. Kokstad is still the best and quickest way to reach us when coming up from the south of the...

A group of 8 of us did the pony trek into Lesotho. It was definitely a highlight of our trip. Our guide Tsebo from Drakensburg adventures met us at Sani Backpackers Lodge where we were welcomed with a cuppa and genuine country style hospitality. For the first part of the tour we went by 4WD up Sani Pass and had...

Alright hostel - nice big lounges and a livingroom. No meals included - breakfast also not available ! Restaurant next door is the only direct option, 3 course dinner without choices. The Lodge houses Drakensberge Adventures - we did the sani pass day tour and it is OK, but you dont see much of lesotho. Have not tried any of...

I took a Baz Bus trip from Cape Town to Joburg in February of 2016 and this was my favorite stop. I rented a car from East London to Durban because I thought I was going to drive around more in the Drakensburg, but I ended up spending 5 nights at Sani Lodge Backpackers, including one night in the Gxalingenwa...

Nice backpacker ! Very clean, and calm, with a great view on the Drakensberg. They have a small swimming pool, a great place for self-catering, a nice restaurant where they can cook you good local food for dinner, and a cute shop with local-made products. Several treks start from the lodge. They also offer a large choice of tours (1...

I base my rating on the fantastic Rock Art hike which took in the Ikanti rock panels 1, 2 and 3 guided by Russel Suchet (owner of Sani Backpackers Lodge). He was very knowledgeable, not only about rock art and scholars’ hypotheses, but also about the ecology and history of the area. There was an abundance of flora and we...

We stayed just one night on our way bavk from the Wild Coast. Was clean and simple but nice. The rooms were extremely hot but then the type of heat experienced is not that common in the area. Thank you for your input and happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us even if just for a night. I stayed one night here in this hostel and was happy with the clean and comfortable facilities. Price was OK and the kitchen and warm living room were enough for my stay. WC and shower were clean and well taken care. My dorm room was comfy and provided a good night sleep. Early morning I headed towards Sani Pass.
