Well received, clean, spacious and very nice company. Spent two nights there while doing the Coast to Coast bicycle challenge. Situated in a quaint and quiet village. The meals were well prepared and tasty.

Visited the Horse and Farrier on Sunday, we were bored in for 6.30pm. On arrival we were shown to our table and the very friendly waitress explained that they had no lamb left and only three servings of pork. Threes of our party ordered the pork and I must say it was excellent. The servings were quite large and very...

Whatever your expectations think low. This place is not very clean. The carpet is well past its best and is dirty. The upholstery on the seats is worn stained and dirty. Our table had wipe marks on it from the grubby cloth used to clean it. There was food on the floor from previous diners. The food we had was...

We like the Horse & Farrier, we have been several times and always enjoy the food and atmosphere and last week was no exception! However, we had to wait 35 minutes for sandwiches, drinks were prompt, the reason for the delay was due to a large coach full of customers. It would have been nice if someone had apologised for...

The room was very nice if a little small! We had booked for an evening meal which was very nice. However we needed to be up early for a walk but breakfast wasn't served until 8am. We told if we were up earlier we could have a cold breakfast we also booked sandwiches for the next day's walk. However when...

We visited the Horse and Farrier on a Friday evening, we had booked which is recommended, tables were available as we arrived at 6 pm but by the time we had eaten groups we're being turned away and most tables had a reserved notice. Two of my party had the Garlic Breaded Mushrooms for a starter and enjoyed them For...

When I visit my daughter in the UK, we always come here for dinner. Two visits and no complaints yet. The food has been excellent, good size portions. The pub in the small village, quaint interior with good size beer garden. Well worth a visit

Nice place in a nice village. The Cottage at The Sally provides good standard accommodation for relaxing at the end of a days cycling or walking. The breakfast is excellent quality. There is dedicated cycle storage

2nd time here and food was again excellent and was very busy so a must to book as even at 6pm on a Thursday it's still full. The menu offers something for everyone and the staff are always very friendly. The portion sizes are nice and big so ideal after a days walking. Everything on the menu was really tasty...
