Easy to locate, parking a motorhome was easy, (caravans can drive in/drive out on island sites), flat ground, hot showers and clean toilets. Excellent camping kitchen. Quiet location with solid perimeter fences. Opposite Bells Parade Park and Pig Island for evening walking. Loved seeing 4 family groups of fluffy ducklings - so cute. Thankyou for the stay.

Thank you for your generous comments. With CCTV security and solid boundary fencing guests can be assured of a safe and quiet stay and with no permanent residents everyone you are staying with is on holiday. Situated on the same river as the Melbourne ferry dock and on the same side of the river and only 8 minutes up stream, being able to stay hooked up, the drive thru sites are so convenient for those arriving in the evening on the late ferry or those leaving early. on the morning ferry. I stayed multiple times for a few days at a time over a six week period whilst travelling around Tasmania. Gavin the owner was a lovely guy, always up for a chat and was super accomodating. I felt comfortable and safe in Tasmania, knowing that I always had a place to go back to. If you’re travelling Tassie, I’d recommend stopping by :)

What a great little caravan park. We are 3 vans travelling together and were given three large grassy sites. The ensuite style amenities are new and immaculately kept. Great camp kitchen and laundry. The cabins are spotless and we'll appointed. Gavin the owner was great, nothing was too much trouble. Right opposite the river and lovely walking areas and just a five minute walk into beautiful Latrobe. We highly recommend this park, we'll be back in two months when we set sail for home on the SOT.

Called up a few days again to ask about certain dates to stay and prices. Well I wish i didn't. The lady on the other end of the phone could not answer any of my questions and told me to call back when the other receptionist Veronica was in. Unfortunately that turned me off staying. So here is a tip: PLEASE put someone in the office who can work the booking system, answer simple questions instead of telling me to call back. I got recommended this park by one of our family friends who commented on the lovely staff who work there as the staff were friendly, helpful and even commented on how clean the park was. I can see a lot of people being put off by this receptionist if she cannot answer simple questions or take bookings. She had terrible phone etiquette as well. She seemed VERY SLOW... Lets hope this get read and this receptionist gets a lot more training

Your feed back is accepted and noted. Patricia was in training at the time you called and circumstances left her here on her own as a newby with almost zero experience so she would not of had any choice but to ask you to call back when the senior had returned. Sorry for the inconvenience caused but our trainee learnt a lot from your call and gained some understanding of what she needed to know in her new position. Next time you will have a new refreshing experience with Patricia and I hope she doesnt give you too much information, if she does, let us know and we will try to slow her down a bit. Regards Gavin

Staff were friendly but that is we’re it stops. Shower was dirty so we didn’t use it. Air conditioner not working. Floors had not been mopped. TV dose not work properly. Couch was sunken and could not get out. Dog poo outside cabin. Could not wait for morning to leave, left well before sunrise. Very expensive for a nights accommodation. Charged 4 senior adults $247. Stayed in Hobart casino for $140 per room with a usable bathroom. Will not be back

We are very surprised to read your feelings Kerry. We are not sure why you considered that the shower was dirty, it looks clean and sparkling to us so not sure what that is about, we cant get it cleaner. The floors are a woodgrain vinyl and because of that colour, may have appeared to be dirty to you but rest assured, they are cleaned and disinfected after every use. The TV works fine, maybe you could not figure out how the remote works although that seems very simple to us. The couch is brand new and comfortable leather, we tested it and had no trouble getting out of it so not sure what is meant by that comment. You have assumed incorrectly that dog poo was outside your cabin, this is Tasmania, wallaby poo is a given here and it is everywhere. If you had of left AFTER sunrise you would have missed your ferry to Melbourne, maybe that is why you left early. Really Kerry, I am the manager here and I cant accept your discouraging comments as genuine. My cleaners are very conscientious and thorough, I have complete confidence in them and I will back them every time. You should have made a phone call to express your feelings and talk about your concerns with us on how much you paid for what you received so we can address it rather than this convoluted method of what I consider as an unfounded grievance via a review.

We arrived late, in a camper van. We were greeted by the manager's great couple, looked after us, nothing was too much. Everything worked, clean and tidy facilities. We were running late departing the next morning as we wanted to see the town and have some 'late' breakfast - no problems at all the managers were pleased that we were spending time in their town - we enjoyed our stay

A great park to stay, very well run. We stayed in our 21' caravan on a powered drive through site. We had the van site, plus our vehicle on another site next to us, which is the way they allocate. Amenities were always clean, showers were not timed. A short distance from the ferry terminal in Devonport, which would be great for a night stay prior to sailing. Highly recommend this park.

We camped in the unpowered camping area. Hard, uneven ground in a small walled in compound, minimal shade. But worst of all it was full of dog turds. Not just one or two. Lots. Our first inclination was to leave, even after having set up our tent. I went to see the manager at reception and he got quite abusive and claimed they were wallaby turds. Now I have seen a few wallaby turds. These were not wallaby turds. He refused to give us a refund. Avoid at all costs, unless you like dog turds.

Ok, you checked in at 7pm, you had a few beers, you assumed the wallaby droppings were that of dogs, you came to the reception, it was closed so you banged your fist on every door and window in the building. As you persisted to demand attention by shouting around the building, for the peace of the others in the park, I opened the reception to deal with your complaint. With beer in hand you loudly and aggressively accused me of running a shonkey park and that you were camping in a sea of dog sh.t. I explained that it was from the wildlife that enters during the night and the droppings are not from dogs. You were so enraged that you could not hear me and after repeating myself several times I realised the situation was out of my control so I shut and locked the reception and called the police. The Police attended promptly and tried to quell your rage without success. You insisted that you were camped in dog sh.t even after the officers tried to get you to see reason and understand it was wildlife droppings. The officers made the decision that you needed to be evicted for the safety of everyone but you refused to leave. When the officers threatened to handcuff you and place you under arrest you cursed Tasmania stating that it is a sh.thole and that you would never return. Both officers and myself felt sorry for your wife and daughter who could only stand back and watch your embarrassing bad behaviour then pack up the tent and leave with you. 'He refused to give us a refund' is an outright lie, your site fee was refunded in full even though you would not surrender your bathroom key. The camping ground was absolutely full on that night and you were the last check in and you did have to camp in the back corner of the camp ground, I grant you that, but that was all explained to your wife when she checked you in and that does nothing to excuse such shameful behaviour from a mature age family man.

we were 6 in a caravan reached very late in devonport after visited cradle mountain. We tried most of the places to stay overnight in devonport and we were lucky that we had a word with Latrobe Mersey River caravan park and they usually close by 8.30 pm but they understood our situation and not only allowed us to stay moreover give us the discount. We stayed in other caravan park but the facilities in this place was excellent, the internet connectivity was so good and free. Most of the places charge for the shower facilities but there is free and it was well maintained.
At last they were very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this place.

We made a booking for Sept back in April and when we turned up we found out that the place has been closed since June. While I understand that the floods were a huge problem, it is disgraceful that we weren't notified that you couldn't fulfil our booking and give us a chance to book another place ahead of our arrival.
