Private, peaceful and relaxing. Stunning views and a beautifully appointed cottage. 2 Kayaks were fun to use....but it was very muddy underfoot....take water shoes! Maybe not the best place for swimming (if that`s what you`re looking for) but if you just want to relax and look at the sea this is perfect! Also, the large gardens attract lots of bird...

We spent two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Bruce was very welcoming and made us feel at home in his very special slice of Coopers Beach. The two private beaches are either side of his private home and both overlook the cove. Each are extremely private and are fully self contained with kitchen, laundery etc. ... A home...

Our experience of Sanctuary in the Cove was a joy from start to finish. After a busy and hectic time on the road, to be able to drop in to a small piece of paradise and step away from the world was a wondrous blessing. Bruce has done the most wonderful job in setting this place up as just that-century....

It is definitely a sanctuary. We had our own bit of bay, a river, a gorgeous cottage, canoes. And such a peaceful spot. Thanks heaps Bruce. We loved every minute. Surprisingly, the drive up from Auckland was also delightful. Then there was the great restaurants a few minutes away - although you think you're miles from anyone. Bruce took us...

Our three night stay at Sanctuary in the Cove's Cove Cottage was a complete delight. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed and the scenery is superb. We enjoyed using the supplied kayaks to tootle around the bay and the walk over the headland to stunning Coopers Beach is worth the effort. Squeezing fresh citrus from the property's gardens provided...

This is a fabulous location we’d love to hug selfishly to ourselves. From the moment we drove through the electronic gates into four acres of beautiful subtropical gardens, we were in another world. Our roomy waterfront cottage was exceptionally well equipped and clean, the beds blissfully comfortable, and on site owner, Bruce, had added extra touches like fluffy white bath...

My husband and I have just spent 3 wonderful nights at the Sanctuary. We stayed in Cove Cottage which was on the waterfront. The cottage itself was immaculate and was fully self contained. For 3 days we had great weather which allowed us to take advantage of the kayaks. Bruce, our host has done a wonderful job in establishing the...

This was just one of many trip to the Sanctuary, a place to be still and recharge the batteries. I always come away feeling rested, relaxed, and content from all the good food the region has.

We have just stayed at Sanctuary in the Cove. The property is superbly situated off the main road down a tree lined drive and into the cove itself. Well named as the perfect sanctuary. Very quiet and peaceful. Bruce, the owner, is a gracious host and ensures attention to detail that makes for a most restful time. Love the man-made...

we have already booked our third trip to sanctuary in the cove, I cannot imagine that we would wish to stay anywhere else as it is by far the most exclusive and charming accommodation in the coopers beach area. it doesnt really get any better than being in a little cottage on a secluded beach, and to see the birdlife...
