This was our first safari and after staying four days in Samburu we continued onto the Mara and stayed at Alex Walker's Nkorombo mobile camp for two days and then onto the Original Serian camp. Expectations were high but we were not let down!!! Minutes...More
What can I say? Our time at the Serian camp was delightful! It exceeded all expectations and I have never been so satisfied with a holiday destination in my life as I am with this place. I can go on and on and repeat all...More
Serian was our last safari stop of our 10 day honeymoon and we couldn't have loved it more! We stayed in a tented room the first night that was extremely private even thought one entire side of it opened up to the Mara River. The...More
Everything about Serian Camp is wonderful. The camp is luxury meets the
the naturalness of the Mara. The tents have every home comfort you would require
on such a trip - including a sunken bath with a view of hippos in the river.
Our first visit to Kenya was complemented perfectly by a stay at Serian - While giving a strong feeling of remoteness Serian camp is extremely civilized and well organised to ensure that the stay is busy without being pressured. Our guide (Dennis) was exceptionally good...More
A traditional bush camp most suited to adventurous outdoors characters in search of a real experience. "Serian" means peaceful, calm or serene in the Maa language. An artists haven and one of the most picturesque sites in the Mara. Located in the heart of the Mara North Conservancy "Serian" operates throughout the year. A traditional tented camp focusing on quality game viewing and providing clients access to some of the very best game viewing in Africa. The migration of wildebeest occurs from June through October and sometimes November, quickly followed by the birthing season from October to March. April May & June offer opportunities for ornithologists and those who enjoy the solitude of the quiet season. Serian guarantees exclusive use of vehicle at no extra cost. This is the key to a quality experience and not a shared compromise. The Nest is a tree house perfect for a picnic after a bush walk in the private conservancy, where guests can also spend the night in the two oval double beds and watch nocturnal game on the infra-red cameras!
My husband & I are planning a trip to Kenya (our first) & wanted to ask you about Ngare Serian, Main Serian & Nkoronbo Serian. We've only done one safari & that was this past June to South Africa, where we stayed in small lodges, & fell in love with all the animals. We loved that the vehicles were open & could go off road, since it was a private conservancy outside Kruger. This will be our first time in a tent - which of the Serian locations would you recommend. We do not necessarily need to see an actual crossing, but would like to see lots of wildebeest. We like the idea of a private conservancy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.p

Hi bjharr, thanks so much for your question. I believe you would enjoy our Serian - the original camp. There you will be located in the private Mara North Conservancy and take advantage of open vehicles, off road driving, night game drives, ability to do short and long walks and even spend a night in the Nest, our treehouse if you choose. What time of the year are you considering?
